GOP Will Not Compromise On Key Issues If They Take The House

The Hill reports Rep. Mike Pence (Ind.), the chairman of the House Republican Conference stating "Look, the time to go along and get along is over. House Republicans know that. We’ve taken firm and principled stands against their big government plans throughout this Congress, and we’ve got, if the American people will send them, we’ve got a cavalry of men and women headed to Washington, D.C. that are going to stand with us."

More:

"Look, there will be no compromise on stopping runaway spending, deficits and debt. There will be no compromise on repealing Obamacare. There will be no compromise on stopping Democrats from growing government and raising taxes," Pence told conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt Thursday evening. "And if I haven’t been clear enough yet, let me say again: No compromise."

There is more at the The Hill link above.

The Sundries Shack asks "why should they?", meaning compromise and to be clear, they should not compromise on the issues that have upset Americans the most. Job creation, the out-of-control spending the government has been doing, Obamacare etc...

These are issues that the Democratically controlled House and Senate have shoved through against the opposition of the majority of the public shown in almost every single poll done at the time on those issues.

Republicans candidates have run on the platform of repealing and/or defunding the most egregious of those issues and stopping the runaway train that has been Barack Obama with the Democratically control House and Senate jamming his agenda through, thereby shoving it down American's throats.

On October 13, 2010 it was reported that Barack Obama arrogantly proclaimed that "Republicans will have to move in his direction."

Wrong Barack.

According to national averages of every poll done asking about the direction America is heading 61.8 percent of Americans believe it is heading in the wrong direction with no poll showing less that 59 percent saying that and as many as 64 percent believe that, depending on which polls you trust more.

The pattern though, never varies, the majority think the country is on the wrong track.

Who laid those tracks? Democrats who have held the majorities in both chambers of Congress for 4 years and Barack Obama who has been president for almost 2 years. They have not compromised, they have not tried to work in a bipartisan manner, they have voted in legislation with nothing more than Democratic votes, totally along party lines.

If the American public hands control of the House of Representatives to the GOP it will be done to stop the direction Obama and Democrats have been taking us.

It is not Republicans that will have to "compromise" it is Barack Obama and he needs to get that through his skull.

American Glob says Pence's words are "The Best Thing Any Republican Has Said In Months."

Agreed. It is. About damn time someone told it like it is.

No Compromise.
