Dumar International Recalls Cinderella Battery-Powered Toy Cars

Dumar International USA is voluntarily recalling their Cinderella 12-Volt Electric Ride-On Vehicles, due to fire and burn hazards. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission in cooperation with Dumar International USA is announcing the recall of these Cinderella battery powered toy cars.

The wires under the hood of the car and/or in the battery compartment under the seat are short circuiting, causing a fire and burn hazard to children riding in the car.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Dumar International USA have recorded 40 incidents to date, of the toy car’s wires overheating.

In several incidents, smoke was seen coming out from underneath the seat area where the battery is located. In one incident, flames shot from under the hood while a 4-year-old girl was riding the vehicle. No injuries have been reported.
