It Just Gets Worse for John Kerry

Ok, for those that have been under a rock, traveling or for any other reason have not heard about the chaos that John Kerry has started with that big mouth of his, here is a quick run down.

First Kerry says this: (Video at link)

"You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.”

Then Republicans, including Bush, Tony Snow, McCain, Hastert, Frist, pretty much all of them, and some Democrats like Harold Ford, insisted Kerry apologize.

Then Kerry refuses to apologize, "claiming" the insult wasn't meant for the troops, but for the President. Yes, thats MUCH better.

Then after continued pressure from just about everybody, including but not limited to our veterans who mention that this is NOT the first time Kerry has insulted and slandered our troops, he finally apoligizes, once again proving how inconsistent he is.

As a combat veteran, I want to make it clear to anyone in uniform and to their loved ones: my poorly stated joke at a rally was not about, and never intended to refer to any troop.

I sincerely regret that my words were misinterpreted to wrongly imply anything negative about those in uniform, and I personally apologize to any service member, family member, or American who was offended.

But of course he could not JUST apologize, he also need to continue to show how embittered he still is from losing the 2004 elections by once again blaming the Republicans for HIS choice of comments.

It is clear the Republican Party would rather talk about anything but their failed security policy. I don’t want my verbal slip to be a diversion from the real issues. I will continue to fight for a change of course to provide real security for our country, and a winning strategy for our troops.

Let us see how the troops feel about it all.

Yes, this is going well for him.

Then I receive an email from Stop the ACLU, showing me the response from a Pro-Troop Organization and it seems that they aren't buying Kerry's claim that his insults were a botched joke about the president.
Even if it WAS a joke, it wasn't a good one since the President scored better grades than Kerry did. So what was the point?

STATEMENT BY MELANIE MORGAN, CHAIR – MOVE AMERICA FORWARD

“Your non-apology is not accepted, Senator Kerry.

“John Kerry has done it again! He has sunk to a new low by managing to insult the American people and members of the United States military in his issuance of a non-apology. Rather then apologizing for the hurtful words he used, he instead says he regrets that his words were misinterpreted? [Source: Kerry statement, “I sincerely regret that my words were misinterpreted…” ]

“So apparently it is the fault of the American public, news media and the men and women of the United States Military for not being smart enough to understand what Senator Kerry meant to say?

“The American public understands what he really said. There is no mistaking his contempt for our troops. He has a long history of name-calling, and now he refuses to apologize for his conduct. Instead he says it’s all our fault.

“Shame on you, Senator Kerry.”
