Texas Man Tells 911 He is Cooking His Girlfriend

(Christopher Lee McCuin and his victim Jana Shearer.)

A man living in Tyler Texas, Christopher McCuin, age 25, called 911 on January 5, 2008 (Saturday) and told them very calmly that he has killed his girlfried, Jana Shearer, age 21, and was cooking her.

The police responded to the call and found a human ear boiling in a pot on a stovetop and a hunk of flesh impaled on a fork sitting atop a plate on the kitchen table at 423 Princess Place, Tyler, Tx.

According to the Dallas Morning News, McCuin held them off for a short time, came out wielding a knife but surrendered shortly after and then was handcuffed, placed in the back of a police vehincle where he proceeded to kick out a window.

McCuin's prior arrests include a DWI, disorderly conduct, public intoxication and a 2003 aggravated assault conviction.

Last November authorities were called to McCuin's mother's home after his sister accused him of hitting her and last Friday his estranged wife went to the Sheriff's Department to file papers accusing him of assault.

The Tyler Morning Telegraph reports that Sheriff J.B. Smith told them that McCuin has gone to Jana Shearer's house on Friday night and "she let him in the house and the two talked for awhile and then they went outside.“That’s the last time anyone saw her, and we feel she was taken against her will because she was not wearing any shoes, she didn’t have her purse or her cell phone.”

After that it is believed he killed her by beating her in the head with a blunt object, multiple times.

He then drove to his estranged wife's home at about 3:30 a.m., broke in and fought with William Veasley, 42, the wife's boyfriend, who was stabbed several times in the shoulder area and is presently in the ICU unit of Mother Frances Hospital.

McCuin was still at his wife's house when the police arrived, he took off in his truck and the police lost him shortly afterwards.

Before 9 am on Saturday morning, he showed up at his mothers house and told her to "come see what he had done", according to Sheriff Smith, the mother and her husband went out to look, saw Jana Shearer dead in the back of the truck and fle, going to the Tyler police to report that her son had killed his girlfriend.

After his mother and her husband fled, McCuin called the Smith County 911 dispatcher and in a “matter of fact” way said he had killed his girlfriend and was boiling parts of her.

“He led the dispatcher to believe he may have been eating flesh, but we are not sure at this time,” Smith said. “Her body is lacerated, with chunks cut out of her face and upper torso area.”

He added the district attorney has put a hold on the 911 tapes, labeling it as a crucial piece of evidence.

Smith also told reporters that "McCuin sits in his solitary jail cell with a nonchalant attitude expressing no remorse for the “horrible acts” he is accused of carrying out against Jana Shearer, 21."

McCuin was charged with capital murder and is being held at the local jail on a $2 million bond.

KETKNBC has a brief profile on Jana Shearer, showing her to be an outgoing friendly girl and you can view her MySpace page here.

In the "About me" area of her MySpace page it says:

"I get along with any and everybody! I have my own style and love life. We only live once so you got to give it all you got!"

As an update on a USA Today, On Deadline article it says:

McCuin claims he was guided by God, investigators tell the Tyler Morning Telegraph. “When he said God told him to do it, one of the investigators looked at him and just said, ‘What did you say?’” says Lt. Larry Wiginton of the sheriff's department.

The authorities are still not sure where the actual murder took place and are trying to determine where the murder scene is.
