Cutting the flow of additonal troops and funding is NOT support!

"There is no end in sight," Speaker Nancy Pelosi said. "The American people have lost faith in President Bush’s course of action in Iraq, and they are demanding a new course of action."
I would like to know who these "American People" are that are "Demanding a
new course of action" Everyone I know and interact with are in support of
this war. Don't speak for me, Ms. Pelosi. I am very much an American
and I believe we need to finish what we started. Don't speak for my
husband or anyone in his unit for that matter because they are also very much
American and wholeheartedly believe in what they are fighting for. Ms.
Pelosi, Let me ask you a question. Have you been to Iraq? Have you
seen the progress we are making over there? Have you seen the kids running
up to our Soldiers and hugging them? Have you seen the many schools that
we have helped to rebuild? Were you there when the Iraqi people were
finally allowed to vote? Do you even remember 9/11? Or have you,
like so many others, forgotten how many of our innocent civilians, some of which
were Children, died a horrible and tragic death? I wonder if your children
were fighting in Iraq, would you be so quick to support a resolution that would
cut the flow of money and troops?

Representative Patrick J. Murphy, Democrat of Pennsylvania, is the lone Iraq veteran in Congress. Before winning election in November, he was a captain in the 82nd Airborne. He was awarded a Bronze Star for his Iraq service from 2003 to 2004.
"The president’s plan to send more of our best and bravest to die refereeing a civil war in Iraq is wrong," said Mr. Murphy, who recalled leading convoys up what was known as Ambush Alley in Baghdad. "The president’s current strategy is not resolute. It is reckless."

What is worse than a politician that wants to pass a resolution that will cripple our Soldier's ability to fight and Win? A politician that is also a veteran of the same war that wants to leave his own comrades basically helpless. He should have to give that Bronze Star back. In my book he is a traitor and has lost the right to call himself a veteran. All of the Soldiers that fought alongside him and died for their Country will have died in vain if we pull out of this War. What a sorry excuse for a human being.

Shortly after Mr. Murphy finished speaking, Republican strategists sent an email message to reporters highlighting a quotation from 2004 when he spoke highly of the administration’s Iraq plan.

Just amazing how fast he goes from supporting the war, to betraying his fellow Soldiers. Mr. Murphy, you make me sick!

Republican leaders and administration officials worked behind the scenes
to prevent a wide defection. The White House arranged a briefing for selected members, linking them by secure satellite to Maj. Gen. William B. Caldwell IV in Baghdad, who spoke of the need for a troop increase.

Ambassadors from several Middle East countries met several Republicans and warned them of the consequences of withdrawing troops.

Why are the Democrats choosing to ignore a Major General and ambassadors from the Middle East that are telling them we need additonal troops?!? Not only that, but, if we pull our troops out, there will be consequences. Why wouldn't they listen to someone who is qualified to make that call, someone who is actually fighting this war? Why wouldn't they listen to Ambassadors from the Middle East that know far more about their Countries than we do? Something is rotten in DC.

After negotiations over competing proposals faltered last week in the Senate, the House picked up the discussion and boiled down its resolution to express support for American forces and disapproval for the plan to add 20,000 troops in Iraq.

You can't have it both ways. Either you support our troops and you send them the additional troops and funds they need. Or, you don't. Then you can explain to the Wives, Children, Mothers and Fathers why their Loved ones came home in a flag draped pine box. I pray it isn't my Husband that dies because some politician had his head so far up his ass that he couldn't see what was really going on. Is it going to take another attack on US soil to make you realize that these people have to be stopped? Well, if this resolution passes, the likelihood of that happening will skyrocket. I really hope for your sake and the sake of all Americans that this resolution does not pass.
