Nancy Pelosi Sacrifices Democrats For Her Own Political Gain

Nancy Pelosi once again proves her own political gain, her legacy as she must think of it, counts more than the Democratic party's as a whole.

Flashback- February 2010

Pelosi urged her colleagues to back a major overhaul of U.S. health care even if it threatens their political careers, a call to arms that underscores the issue’s massive role in this election year.

Lawmakers sometimes must enact policies that, even if unpopular at the moment, will help the public, Pelosi said in an interview being broadcast Sunday the ABC News program “This Week.”

“We’re not here just to self-perpetuate our service in Congress,” she said. “We’re here to do the job for the American people.

Never mind the fact that in February 2010, every poll conducted showed the American public opposed by either a majority or plurality.

Fast Forward to November 5, 2010, 2 days after the worst rout of midterm history where Republicans took over 60 House seats, in effect firing Nancy Pelosi from her position as Speaker of the House, where she issued a letter of intent that she would be running as "House Democratic Leader", for the minority, after having presided over the worst defeat in 72 years.

Moderate Democrats are already lining up in opposition of her becoming the minority leader and Republicans are celebrating her decision.

Eric Cantor (R-Va.) gets the last word: "Yeah, I don't think there's any question that this says to the voters, 'We're not listening to you. We think we're right. We're going to continue the same path."

This is the best news Republicans, looking to 2012, could have received.. Nancy Pelosi, the gift that just keeps on giving..... to Republicans.
