Pelosi's Buddy: al-Assad, up to no good again

[Updates below]

Syrian backed terrorist group
Fatah al-Islam, attacked the Lebanese Army yesterday killing at least 12 soldiers and ISF members as well as wounding dozens of others, including civilians.

According to From Beirut to the Beltway the Syrian backed group is made up of Syrian, Palestinian, Lebanese, Saudi and other Arab Islamists who arrived via Syria after terrorist tours in Iraq-- has threatened to "open fire and volcanoes" on the army and on Lebanon that will not be "closed" as long as they have the mandate from their god.

Fatah al-Islam sent a fax to news agencies promising destruction for the entire country:

"We warn the Lebanese army of the consequences of continuing the provocative acts against our mujahideen who will open the gates of fire ... against (the army) and against the whole of Lebanon," the statement, faxed to Reuters, said. (Reuters)

Fatah al-Islam was implicated in the Ain Alaq terrorist bombings in February. The group is also said to have cells in refugee camps closer to Beirut. One of the reported objectives of Fatah al-Islam is attacking UNIFIL and assassinating Lebanese politicians, in addition to terrorizing Lebanese citizens and Palestinian refugees. They have been exposed as a Syrian intelligence creation by other Palestinian groups, and through police investigations.

Today's events came as Bashar Assad threatened to set the entire region on fire if the UN Security Council established a tribunal bringing the killers of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri to justice. Assad delivered the threat to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon last week. An-Nahar on Friday reported that Assad delivered a set of demands to the UN that calls on the UN to cancel the tribunal treaty with Siniora's "illegitimate" government. Assad reportedly told the UN secretary general that Syria wants to see a national unity government in Lebanon to "study" and "amend" the tribunal's bylaws.

Little Green Footballs shows us one explosion happened near a shopping mall, which killed one women and another massive terror attack in East Beirut in a district of movie theaters.

As usual, Syria is up to no good, will kill as many people as possible to stop the tribunal into the killing of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, which Syria is accused of.

Any doubt that al-Assad is a terror sponsoring thug?

That didn't seem to matter much to Nancy Pelosi when she went to play footsie with al-Assad, as she tried and failed miserably to conduct shuttle diplomacy between Syria and Israel, resulting in Israel calling her a liar and issuing this statement publicily.

From Haertz:

According to sources at the Prime Minister's Office, "Pelosi took part of the things that were said in the meeting, and used what suited her."

In her bumbling attempt to insinuate herself into the position of Secretary of State as she has constantly been trying to usurp the Presedential powers, she has overstepped here to the point of doing more harm than good.

In her ignorance of foreign affairs and how foreign diplomacy is handled she has managed to set things backwards instead of forwards, and she has also found herself a few new friends.

Namely the TERRORISTS, to which she did get a GLEAMING endorsement from, via audio, no less. (Click the link, then scroll down to listen to the terrorists themselves praising Nancy Pelosi)

Hows that working out for you now Pelosi?

What good did you do with your failed pathetic attempt to do everyones job BUT your own?

By encouraging al-Assad, are you not just as responsible for these latest deaths, by doing what everyone said you were doing at the time... EMBOLDENING him?

I asked once if Congress is above the law:

I have enjoyed showing Nancy Pelosi's fumbling and bumbling, her total incompetence and overstepping her boundaries, and last but not least her humiliation of being publicly corrected by Israel and snubbed by Syrian President al-Assad. (All this in ONE trip)

All that aside though, did she commit a felony and if she did, will she be held accountable for it?

She hasn't been held accountable and the reason we have diplomats is because people like the speaker isn't equipped nor capable of handling such a difficult job, one mistake can cause chaos in the region and encourage terrorists regimes as well as embolden them as Pelosi has done with al-Assad.

Good going Nancy, outstanding job of undercutting our country, trying to push your own foreign agenda and your main goal to embarrass the President.... was that worth all these lives Pelosi?

Because of your actions, because of your encouragement for al-Assad, these deaths are partially your fault.

After all, you lay down with dogs, you get up with fleas.

In Pelosis pathetic desire to undermine our country as well as demoralize our troops and embolden our enemies, she still plays games with our troops funding while they are in the field risking life and limb.

She shouldn't even be allowed to call herself an American.

With friends like Pelosi and al-Assad, who needs enemies?

[Update] 5/21/07- CNN reports that the violence is being continues today.

Dozens of fighters reportedly have been killed or wounded as Lebanese forces engaged Monday in a second day of fierce gunbattles with Islamic militants at a Palestinian refugee camp outside Tripoli.

The Lebanese Cabinet met to discuss how it will respond to violence in the northern port city; on Sunday, the Cabinet declared its "full support" for military efforts to end the fighting, said Mohamed Chatah, a senior adviser to Prime Minister Fouad Siniora.
