I live in Arizona and I stand up for Governor Brewer and I applaud her courage

Digging Into The Numbers- Even Dems Favor AZ New Immigration Law

Despite the hype and rhetoric coming from the Obama administration and Democratic politicians publicly as well as certain media outlets, nationally the majority (60%) favor the new law signed by Arizona's Governor which cracks down on the serious illegal immigration problem and crimes associated with it.

Digging into the actual numbers though may surprise many because the "news" avoids mention of the breakdown demographically, so let us take a look, shall we?

Seventy-seven percent (77%) of Republicans support the law along with 62% of voters not affiliated with either major party. Democratic voters are evenly divided on the measure.

Even Democrats, nationally, are divided.... anyone seeing the MSM reporting that little newsflash?

Locally, 70 percent of Arizona residents favor the new tougher, stricter law and again, surprise!!!!!!!! 51 percent of Democrats agree.

Eighty-four percent (84%) of Arizona Republicans and 69% of voters not affiliated with either major party in the state favor the new get-tough legislation. Democrats are more closely divided: 51% like the new law, but 43% oppose it.

While MSNBC may have just discovered that it is a "Crime to be Illegal Immigrant", most Americans already knew this.

For those a little slow on the uptake, here is the definition of "crime"

1. an action or an instance of negligence that is deemed injurious to the public welfare or morals or to the interests of the state and that is legally prohibited.

2. criminal activity and those engaged in it

Crossing into America illegally is a crime.

Is that clear enough? Those committing crimes are criminals. Criminals get detained or arrested and/or, in this case, deported.

No one is suggesting that immigrants are not a welcome part of our society, they are. We are a nation made up of immigrants and each is welcomed with opened arms to become part of our society legally.

Illegal immigrants, those that come here illegally, are criminals and that difference, that separation seems to be ignored and needs to be highlighted at every given opportunity.

I live in Arizona and I stand up for Governor Brewer and I applaud her courage in acting to protect this state when the government has failed to do so by enforcing the law.

Consider me one of the 70 percent that agrees with this new law.

[Update #2] This law was carefully crafted and people should read it and not let the rhetoric sway you one way or another.
