Obama The Food Stamp President Breaks Another Record: 1 Out Of Every 5 Households On Food Stamps

By Susan Duclos

In October 2012, John Stossel found it was easier to get welfare than to work, with  'job centers" recommending food stamps or unemployment benefits instead of helping people obtain jobs.

In July 2012, it was reported that the USDA was using Spanish soap operas to push food stamps among non-citizens.

March 2013, Washington Times reported: Enrollment in the food stamp program — officially the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program — has soared by 70 percent in the years since President Obama first took office, a new report finds

Tuesday, April 23, 2013, the Washington Post reported the Obama administration  pays recruiters to sign people up for food stamps even giving them a monthly quota to hit.

That and much more makes Thursday's report, showing one out of every five households, a record of 23 million households in the United States, are on food stamps, unsurprising.

The most recent Supplemental Assistance Nutrition Program (SNAP) statistics of the number of households receiving food stamps shows that 23,087,886 households participated in January 2013 - an increase of 889,154 families from January 2012 when the number of households totaled 22,188,732.

The most recent statistics from the United States Census Bureau-- from December 2012-- puts the number of households in the United States at 115,310,000. If you divide 115,310,000 by 23,087,866, that equals one out of every five households now receiving food stamps.

As previously reported, food stamp rolls in America recently surpassed the population of Spain. A record number 47,692,896 Americans are now enrolled in the program and the cost of food stamp fraud has more than doubled in just three years.

Barack Obama truly is the food stamp president.
