#OWS News: Health Concerns Among Occupiers Include 'Tuberculosis' And 'Zuccotti Lung'

By Susan Duclos

The list of growing concerns stemming from the Occupy movements across the country just grew to include major health concerns including Tuberculosis in Atlanta, Zuccotti Lung in New York, susceptibility to respiratory viruses; norovirus, the so-called winter vomiting virus and sexually transmitted diseases according to health officials.

These health issues are not only limited to the Occupiers:

Of course, contagions may not be confined to the park population. On Wednesday evening, at the western end of the plaza, where walking paths tighten by the day and an “Occupy Paw Street” station has been assembled for protesters’ dogs, Mr. Cipolla solicited donations, shouting at passers-by through a megaphone.

“We’re the biggest tourist attraction in New York,” he said. “And we shake everyone’s hands.”

Earlier this week a man had been found dead in his tent and reports indicate he had been dead for two days before his body was found.

Last night a man was shot and killed just yards from the Occupy Oakland encampment outside City Hall which has caused Oakland Mayor Jean Quan to request that Occupy Oakland voluntarily dismantle their encampment or be removed by the City.

Mayor Jean Quan held a news conference and announced that the city was planning, once again, to remove the Occupy camp.

“The risks are too great for having an encampment out there,” Quan said. “It’s time for the encampment to end.”

For those that need reminding, Oakland police had already dismantled that encampment once before that very same Mayor changed her mind and allowed them back.

Another man died in a Occupy Burlington tent in Vermont and yet another body was found dead inside his tent at a Salt Lake City park where protesters have been camping.

Portland officials are also preparing for a showdown with the Occupiers there since the mayor announced a rise in crime around the encampment and health concerns forced his decision to give Occupiers a deadline to leave or be removed.

Deaths, overdoses, diseases, and thefts are just the tip of the iceberg of reports just in the last few days.

Power Line calls this the "Occupier Devolution."

If you have ever wondered what would happen in a society consisting entirely of liberals, the Occupier movement is providing the answer: devolution. It is almost impossible to keep up with the downward spiral, but here are some of the highlights of the last 24 hours:

I repeat from a previous post because it is very important to remember how this movement got started:

Never forget, Barack Obama created this class warfare movement on June 29, 2011 in a speech to distract voters from his dismal economic failures to cast blame on "corporate jet owners" and the rich, then Democrats embraced it and thought it would be a good idea to harness the anger.
