Below is some information on just a few of the many plans House Republicans have offered to get Americans working again, all of which are currently being stalled by the Senate.
The Forgotten Fifteen
AND STILL COUNTING...
Via email from Congressman Trent Franks:
Dear Susan,
With an unemployment rate that has remained at or above 9 percent for nearly two years straight, and with over 400,000 new jobless claims this past month, Americans have waited since January of 2009 for President Obama to take any action that will actually create jobs.
Unfortunately, the economic outlook has only gotten progressively worse under his Administration. To make matters worse, House Republicans have passed nearly 20 job-creating bills that are being stalled by Harry Reid and the Democrat-controlled Senate, who refuse to even bring the bills to the Senate floor for a proper vote.
With a President whose best economic plan (the $800 billion so-called "stimulus") failed to deliver the promised economic boost and sent hundreds of millions of dollars to some of the President's pet projects -- including to a struggling solar power company that went bankrupt shortly after being given a $535 million loan courtesy of American taxpayers -- and a Senate controlled by Democrats who refuse outright to work with their Republican counterparts in the House to get jobs created, it is understandable that Americans feel disenfranchised by Washington's seeming inability to do anything of substance.
Below is some information on just a few of the many plans House Republicans have offered to get Americans working again, all of which are currently being stalled by the Senate.
Until President Obama and Senate Democrats finally "deign" to work with House Republicans to balance our budget, control spending, and create jobs, they will continue to relegate Americans to an ongoing struggle through the unmitigated failure of Obama Economics.
Sincerely,
Congressman Trent Franks
While Barack Obama travels the country campaigning for reelection in 2012 and claiming that Republicans are obstructing his tax increase bill in the guise of a "jobs" bill, it is worth remembering that Republicans have passed 15 separate bills geared toward job growth and every one of those 15 are being stalled in the Democratically controlled Senate.
