In a stunning turnaround and after losing britain's military support, Barack Obama now says he will seek congressional approval to bomb Syria.
In what can only be considered a triumph for those that demanded he get approval and for protesters across the world that have been vocal about the ramifications of a Syria strike, especially without conclusive evidence that it was the Syrian leadership that attacked their own people with chemical weapons rather than the Obama Syrian rebels, Barack Obama is now backing away from "going it alone," and is now hoping the U.S. Congress will approve of a military strike against Syria.
Congress is not scheduled to return from their August recess until Sept. 9 .
Should Obama strike now without receiving congressional approval, he will have lied directly to the American people in the statement seen via video below.
