Liberals Don't 'Get' Why Obama's Full 'You Didn't Build That' Remarks Are So Offensive

By Susan Duclos

When liberals screeched that Obama's 'You didn't build that" remarks were being taken out of context by Mitt Romney, Romney said straight up, watch the whole thing, Obama's "context is worse than the quote:"

Before getting to the point of the post, watch the remarks, in context:

Transcript, again, in context:

Look, if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own.  You didn’t get there on your own.  I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart.  There are a lot of smart people out there.  It must be because I worked harder than everybody else.  Let me tell you something — there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there.
If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help.  There was a great teacher somewhere in your life.  Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive.  Somebody invested in roads and bridges.  If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that.  Somebody else made that happen.

Today and yesterday a couple stories hit the headlined in the news, one where a business owner accepted a job to cater an Obama visit and wore a T-Shirt that said " Government didn’t build my business. I did.

Another where a new business owner refused to cater a Biden event because of Obama's "You didn't build that" remark.

Predictably, liberals, unable to admit Obama's remark gave America a glimpse into his complete disdain and disrespect for the hard work business owners aka Capitalists put in to making a business successful, and his ideology that the credit for that success is directly related to big government,  are still screeching with claims that these business owners can't think for themselves, can't hear the whole speech and still be offended, that they are believing Romney lies!

Liberals don't understand the free market, they don't comprehend the ideology of Capitalism, they just don't "get" why listening to Obama's words, in context,  is "worse than the quote" itself to business owners across the country.

That "teacher somewhere in your life" that Obama refers to, provided a service, teaching her knowledge to students and she was paid to do so.

Capitalism baby!

Obama said: "Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive."

Yes, Capitalists did that: (Dictionary.com)

1. a person who has capital,  especially extensive capital,  invested in business enterprises.
2. an advocate of capitalism.
3. a very wealthy person.

Capitalism - (Dictionary.com)

an economic system in which investment in and ownership of the means of production, distribution, and exchange of wealth is made and maintained chiefly by private individuals or corporations, especially as contrasted to cooperatively or state-owned means of wealth.
About those roads and bridges, the people that "invested" in those, who made them possible, are the Capitalists, who via Capitalism, made enough money, the wealthy in other words, to pay the taxes in this country, to get them built.

Before there was a Department of Public Works to build those "roads and bridges", you had merchants aka Capitalists, creating trails to travel on to do business.

"If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that.  Somebody else made that happen"?

Yeah, the very people Barack Obama claims "made that happen" are the same people that would and are stating very clearly, "WE DID BUILD THAT!!!!!"

What exactly is so difficult about this concept for liberals to wrap their minds around?
