Five months into the majority, the Democratic controlled congress is showing the same rating as a war time president in his sixth year, dropping 5 points in the last month alone.
The survey found only 35 percent approve of how Congress is handling its job, down 5 percentage points in a month. That gives lawmakers the same bleak approval rating as Bush, who has been mired at about that level since last fall, including his dip to a record low for the AP-Ipsos poll of 32 percent last January.
Spin it anyway you want, but for those that just love throwing Bush's approval rating out there in the comment sections time and time again, seems congress is dropping approval ratings faster than Bush ever could or did.
Six years and a global war on terror preceeds Bush's ratings, four months and change, of doing nothing but intiating investigations, trying to usurp the presidential powers, trying to step into the secretary of states shoes, and passing bills they know will be vetoed before they pass them, as well as being fully aware that they do not have the votes to override the vetoes, earmarks, pork, bribing and buying votes for the same bill they knew would be vetoed, seem to be taking their toll on the Democrats in congress and the senate.
Americans are watching and judging as well as the rest of the world and the democrats are being found to be incompetent, incapable of "legislating" as they were voted into power to do and are becoming very unpopular among even their own voters.
Reminds me of the limbo game.... How LOW can you GO.
Republicans really do not have to do much before the 2008 elections, they need to stay quiet and simply let the democratic congress and senate continue to show the world why they are rarely trusted and what happens when they finally are.
They always were great at shooting themselves in the head and once again, they do not disappoint.
