Michele Bachmann Announces Suspension Of Presidential Campaign

By Susan Duclos

Bachmann: "I have decided to stand aside."

After taking second to last place last night in the Iowa caucuses, beating Huntsman, the only candidate that didn't even bother to campaign in Iowa, Michele Bachman is suspending her presidential campaign.

This comes after news that Bachmann had cancelled her schedule South Carolina trip and called a press conference.

Initially, National Journal had reported Bachmann's plan to suspend her presidential campaign sourcing a "Republican official with direct knowledge of the lawmaker’s plans," but it has now been confirmed by her at her press conference.
