Can Someone Turn Up the Global Warming, Please? I'm Freezing Over Here...

You can always count on the debate being far from over when someone says "The debate is over." Such is the case regarding global warming. For the past several years, media outlets and politicians have been playing the role of doomsday prophets and telling us how in we, humanity, are in dire danger of doing ourselves in because we're causing the climate to change and the planet to warm. Movies and documentaries have been made, politicians and scientists have made speeches, and there has been an entire industrial move to "go green."

Did anyone really think about consulting with Mother Nature before starting all the hype?

Scare mongering appears to be the case, according to reports from the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) that reveal that almost all the allegedly “lost” ice has come back. A NOAA report shows that ice levels which had shrunk from 5 million square miles in January 2007 to just 1.5 million square miles in October, are almost back to their original levels.

Moreover, a Feb. 18 report in the London Daily Express showed that there is nearly a third more ice in Antarctica than usual, challenging the global warming crusaders and buttressing arguments of skeptics who deny that the world is undergoing global warming.

The Daily express recalls the photograph of polar bears clinging on to a melting iceberg which has been widely hailed as proof of the need to fight climate change and has been used by former Vice President Al Gore during his "Inconvenient Truth" lectures about mankind’s alleged impact on the global climate.

Gore fails to mention that the photograph was taken in the month of August when melting is normal. Or that the polar bear population has soared in recent years.

How very inconvenient.

Did anyone hear that it's snowing in Jerusalem today, by the way? Not a very interesting news story, unless you factor in the fact that snow is a VERY unusual thing for the area. Five centimeters of snow were recorded in Jerusalem this morning, after a rare second cold front in less than a month's time came through the region, covering not only Jerusalem but the West Bank towns of Bethlehem and Hebron, while the Gaza Strip was covered by heavy rains.

Global warming causes snow in Israel? How very interesting indeed. What else is going on in the world in regards to rising temperatures?

The Daily Express reported yesterday that NOAA research shows that there is a third more ice in Antarctica this year than normal. The ice sheet between Canada and Greenland is higher than it has been in fifteen years. Snow and freezing weather have killed 120 people in Afghanistan. China has suffered snow storms so severe that migrant workers have been left stranded, transportation has suffered shut downs, there have been massive power outages over nearly half of 33 provinces due to coal shortages.

Global warming, right?

Vietnam has seen the loss of lives of children, thousands of cattle and buffalo, and severe damage to their rice crops as they experience the worst and longest cold spell in recent history. Temperatures in central England have reached as low as -10 C this week, setting record lows. Snow has covered most of Greece over the weekend, continuing into Monday, sending that island nation into sub-zero temperatures and halting public transportation and services, closing schools and courthouses. Temperatures in Athens reached -6 C, other towns recorded temperatures of 12 C.

And yet we must do something about global warming. We must pass legislation that will force these evil corporations and greedy people to change their lives so that they aren't contributing to the warming of our planet.

OH the HUMANITY!

I'm not one to use the term "sheeple." Not my thing. The mindset of large groups of people, however, is to buy whatever the talking heads of the main stream media are selling to them. Since the advent of television, mankind has become more willing and complacent with being told what to think rather than actually looking into situations and formulating their own conclusions from the evidence presented.

My conclusion is that we're freezing with all this global warming going on.

One needs to merely turn to science, not pop-culture, politically funded "give-me-results-and-they'd-better-fit-in-with-my-campaign-agenda" results science, but true, unbiased, take-a-look-at-this-and-lets-see-what's-going-on-with-it science. The planet goes through periods of warming and cooling. It was MUCH warmer in prehistoric times than it is today. Or did dinosaur farts cause the greenhouse warming that the earth underwent during the Mesozoic, Jurassic, and Triassic periods? Maybe it was a lack of dino gas that caused the onset of the ice age and the rise of the woolly mammoth.

It can not be said that the planet is undergoing disastrous global warming when the evidence shows record low temperatures around the world. This is a prime example of what I mean when I say that contradictions can not exist. Until people realize this and begin to think for them. Until this happens, people like Al Gore will continue to come along and scam them with trumped up hysteria aimed at financial and political gain.

While I'll admit, these reports that I've listed in this piece show only recent records from this winter, I've been following this for quite some time. This year is not the first in recent years where we have seen global record low temperatures and the not so steady decline of polar ice. It's just this years data, in a very raw form to illustrate a point. I'm making an admission that I've only shown a part of the story, but the whole story IS out there. The other side of this debate is only showing what they want you to see, as well. And the main body of evidence, when shown as a whole, isn't on their side.

I fully encourage each and every one of you to research this for yourselves and make up your own minds rather than playing into dinosaur media hype (and we're back to dino farts with that).
