The Problem on the Left side of the Room

I am again going to attempt to look at the left side of the room here and what I see is disturbing to say the least.

Let me preface this post with the assurance to anyone that reads this that I firmly, unquestionably believe that Foley is a very sick man and that after all investigations are over, his punishment should fit his crime (if the FBI investigation finds a crime that is punishable by law). If there is not a crime under our present laws for what he has supposedly done, then there should be.

Now, you will notice I say "if" and "supposedly", I only use these words because despite the public posturing of the Democratic party, and although I have seen the copies of the emails and instant message logs online, I still have not seen what the authorities have as actual proof that any of this actually came from Foley. His quitting and entering rehabilitation tells me that at least some if not all of what is being said is true, but unlike the left side of the aisle here, I am waiting for the full formal investigation to be done.

Which brings me to my next point: The Democrats rush to judgment, not only about Foley, but also about their assumptions that somehow what one sick man supposedly did, the whole Republican party is somehow responsible for. Although I will admit, that letting the official investigation takes it course before pointing fingers and making baseless allegations, would not get them the exposure they need on this issue in time for the November elections. So, of course, by all means, lets not wait for the FBI's reports and findings, by then it will be too late.

Desperation is a scary thing.

Following my line of thinking on this, my next point: The timing and the method of this discovery about Foley. Election time.

Plan A: The argument about the Iraq war not having anything to do with the "War on Terror" was losing steam and votes, despite the Democrats assertions about that being a key issue in this Novembers elections.

So they moved on to Plan B: The Military Commissions Act of 2006 aka the Detainee Bill or as they liked to dub it, the Torture Bill. Convinced that they could sit back and ride the wave of discourse between the Republican party without having to lift a finger of their own, the Democrats did just that, and the Bill passed, with a number of Democrats voting in favor of it. Roll Call.

Brings me to the present, is the timing and method of discovery on the Foley issue, Plan C?
The RightWing Nuthouse has some very good points about the method of discovery of this story.

After reading that blog I went over to the Stop Sex Predators website and took a look around, noticing a few things for myself. For a site that has been around since July, they have not even been able to get the site itself in workable order, notice the links on the right side.
Yet, despite it being simple and crude, it managed to get the attention needed to be able to have an issue as big as this one, drop right into their lap. Simply amazing. Take a look for yourself and you be the judge.

Back to Plan C. Break the Foley story wide open, which is a good thing, then use it to try to discredit the whole of the Republican party. This is where Plan C is going to fail, just as their previous brilliant ideas failed. The American People. We are not as stupid, nor gullible as the Democrats seem to think we are. We know the nature of what they have become, we see the weakness in them. As Sabastian Mallaby from the Washington Post has pointed out, they have become a Party Without Principles.

The American Thinker has a great piece on the two possible outcomes of this.

By pushing what the Democrats consider their "values" into American's faces, they also push them away. Because the more they speak at length without actually saying anything, the more the people of this great country realize that no matter what mistakes the present administration has made and despite Iraq not being popular, at least they are interested and actively pursuing America's Safety. Something the Democrats are showing the world they are not capable of doing. Former Democratic Presidents were and have been capable, but what the Democrats have become now is weak, spineless, and without a single inventive idea.

I stand behind what I have said in previous posts. Democrats are the terrorists best chance of winning the War on Terror.
I follow up with what I see as the biggest Problem on the Right Side of the Room.

[UPDATE] Strata-Sphere is a must read.

As you may or may not already be aware, members of the Watcher's Council hold a vote every week on what they consider to be the most link-worthy pieces of writing around... per the Watcher's instructions, I am submitting one of my own posts for consideration in the upcoming nominations process.

Here is the most recent winning council post, here is the most recent winning non-council post, here is the list of results for the latest vote, and here is the initial posting of all the nominees that were voted on.
