Gallup Daily, Tracking Election 2008 shows that John McCain holds a 20 percentage point lead over Mitt Romney in their latest poll taken from January 30- February 1, polling.
On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton only holds a single digit lead, (7 percentage points) over Barack Obama. This is up from three- to four-point leads Clinton had the previous two days, but it is still a much closer race than a week ago when Clinton led Obama by 15 points.
Note to readers: Many are not happy that John McCain is taking the lead over Mitt Romney and I could get behind either candidate that ends up being our nominee because the choice then becomes Obama, Clinton, OR whoever wins the GOP nomination?
I have seen the Clinton supporters and Obama supporters causing all sorts of friction within their party and causing divisions and I would hope the Conservatives, the Republicans, would all take a deep breath, a quick step back and act like adults.
Fight for your candidate, sure thing, but once the primaries are over and the nominee is chosen, put your efforts into making sure the GOP nominee is elected in 2008 and don't do what the Democrats do and pout, whine, cry, stomp their feet and throw temper tantrums like the children they generally act like when they don't get their way.
The Republicans have always been the party of adults and we need to remain so.
