Kerry's Contempt Continued.

Updating as more and more reactions come in from Kerry's so called joke that ended up being on him.

“You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.”

Democrats are already distancing themselves from Kerry over this.

1st District congressional candidate Bruce Braley has canceled a campaign event scheduled later this week with Massachusetts Senator John Kerry, saying that the senator's recent comments about the Iraq war were inappropriate.

Braley, a Democrat, is running against Republican Mike Whalen in Iowa's 1st District congressional race -- a contest considered to be one of the most competitive House races in the country.

Braley's appearance with Kerry, the Democrats nominee for president in 2004, was scheduled for Thursday.

Braley spokesman Jeff Giertz says the decision to cancel the event with Kerry was made independently. The decision came as a furor grew over comments Kerry made about the Iraq War Monday.
Army Veteran and Yale Alumnus are Responding to Kerry's comments.

Flagg Youngblood -- a former Army Captain, graduate of Yale, and current Program Officer for Young America's Foundation -- comments: "Kerry's remarks are a left-wing, elitist insult to all those who volunteer to serve-pure and simple! The days of the radical 1960's are long gone, just like the draft. The myths about the military that the Left told then need to die now, once and for all."

Senator Frist also weighs in as I am sure everyone will be doing by morning.

While America’s servicemen and women are fighting and dying against our adversaries in the global War on Terror, John Kerry has the gall to criticize their intelligence, their education, and their motivation for service. His comments represent the absolute worst in Democrat scare tactics and present a grave insult to our all-volunteer Armed Forces.

Senator Kerry clearly owes an apology to our soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines serving in Iraq. But Mr. Kerry has refused to do so. Instead, he’s claiming that Republicans are “desperately distorting” his comments. Watch the video yourself … it is perfectly clear what Mr. Kerry said … what’s unclear is whether Mr. Kerry ever means what he says. Perhaps he was against his comments before he actually made them.

And Senator Kerry is falsely claiming that Republicans “love to attack those who did [serve in war].” The truth is that Senator Kerry served honorably in Vietnam over 35 years ago, but he’s not immune from criticism today. Republicans aren’t “questioning his patriotism,” but we are calling him on his slur of our troops in the field.

Having just returned from Iraq and Afghanistan, I can tell you that the American troops I met were hard-working, intelligent, and dedicated to victory. Maybe the reason that John Kerry is so eager to accept defeat in the War on Terror is that he doesn’t share my opinion of our fighting men and women.

[UPDATES] 11/01/06- As well all kew, this story will not be going away soon. More candidates have canceled Kerry's appearances, and as a result, Kerry himself has canceled all scheduled appearances for the day.

"Sen. Cantwell is Sen. Kerry's host in our state," reads a press release from Mike McGavick, the Republican challenger to incumbent Washington Sen. Maria Cantwell. "She has evaded comment time and time again in this campaign. Not this time. Sen. Cantwell owes Washington's veterans and soldiers an explanation. She has taken Sen. Kerry's money. Does she also accept his comments?"

Then, there's Pennsylvania, where incumbent Republican Rep. Curt Weldon is in a fight with Democrat Joe Sestak.

"Joe Sestak has closely allied himself with John Kerry throughout this campaign,” Mike Puppio, chairman of Weldon’s re-election campaign, said of the retired admiral who is ahead of Weldon in the polls.

“The question now is whether Sestak will publicly condemn the insensitive and wildly off base comments by Kerry that belittle and denigrate our men and women in the military. ... Joe Sestak should call on his friend John Kerry to apologize,” Puppio said.

In the face of these and other newly emboldened Republican campaigns, Kerry appears to have made the decision to lay low and not stoke the fire he sparked with comments made Monday during a campaign stop in California.

Kerry denies his statement instead of apologizing. Macsmind points out that even if Kerry was trying to speak to President Bushes education as he "claims" he was doing, the joke STILL does not make sense since Kerry Himself scored lower in grades than Bush did.

Democrats must be cursing that damn Karl Rove. How does he do it? From where in the black depths of his soul did he conjure the idea of putting a microphone in front of John Kerry’s mouth during the last week of a campaign season? We all know the truth now, and it is incontrovertible: Karl Rove is one magnificent bastard!

TN candidate Harold Ford is also saying that no matter how Kerry meant his comment, he needs to apologize.

The White House is yet again calling on John Kerry to apologize weds morning.

WASHINGTON - The White House pressed Sen. John Kerry Wednesday to apologize for a comment Republicans say was disrespectful of U.S. fighting forces in Iraq, saying he "put gasoline on the fire" of an already sizzling midterm election campaign.

"Sen. Kerry may have botched the line, but what he said was insulting to the troops, and what he ought to say is, 'Look, I botched the line, but I'm sorry for giving offense,' " press secretary Tony Snow said on CBS's "The Early Show."

"We're not the one who whipped this up into a big issue. Sen. Kerry did so yesterday," said Snow, appearing the day after President Bush and Kerry traded their harshest accusations since the 2004 presidential race. Bush accused the Massachusetts Democrat of troop-bashing and Kerry called the president's men hacks who are "willing to lie" to gloss over problems with the war policy.

Now, for man who thinks he is so damn smart, if he was, would he not understand that he could have simply made this a blurb instead of a story by APOLOGIZING to begin with? Don Suber points this out. The man has no brains, has no class and has no integrity and I for one am SO glad he is a Democrat.

This is the face of the party that will take the senate and house if you do NOT vote. So VOTE and vote Republican.

The Republican National Committee (RNC) today released a new web ad entitled, “Apologize.” The ad focuses on the comments made by Senator John Kerry in California on Monday night and asks Senator Kerry to apologize to our troops. “Apologize” will be emailed to millions of Republican supporters, grassroots activists, and all state parties. The web ad is available for viewing now on www.gop.com.

So, dinner is on the stove, kids are ringing my bell for candy, so this is going to be short and sweet.

Wapo has two articles today, one announcing that black democrats are voting for Republican candidate Steele and the other on the president letting the people know that America will lose under the Democrats.

"However they put it, the Democrat approach in Iraq comes down to this: The terrorists win and America loses," Bush told a raucous crowd of about 5,000 GOP partisans packed in an arena at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, one of his stops Monday. "That's what's at stake in this election. The Democrat goal is to get out of Iraq. The Republican goal is to win in Iraq."

Kerry's Cowardly Contempt for our Troops

John Kerry Still has not learned to keep that big mouth shut and I am afraid he never will. Every time he opens his mouth he manages to bury the Democrats.



“You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.”


Very much the same nonsense he spouted after returning from Vietnam when he became spokesperson for Vietnam Veterans Against the War. Stabbing his own fellow soldiers in the back. Our military should be used to this from john Kerry by now.

He votes against everything the military needs.

Kerry's Voting Record:

The Massachusetts senator voted against defense appropriations bills that included money for weapons such as the Patriot missile, the Tomahawk cruise missile and the B-2 stealth bomber — all of which military leaders say have become integral to the U.S. force and were crucial to winning the 1991 Gulf war and last year's war in Iraq.

According to voting records, Mr. Kerry also favored cutting or canceling spending on the Apache helicopter, the M-1 Abrams tank and a wide range of fighter jets.

The Center for Security Policy has analyzed more than 75 votes over the past decade cast by Mr. Kerry and other senators. The Washington-based conservative think tank gave Mr. Kerry one of the lowest ratings of any senator.

In 1995, for instance, the group gave Mr. Kerry a rank of five out of a possible 100. In 1997, Mr. Kerry earned a zero from the Center for Security Policy, which identifies its goal as "promoting international peace through American strength."

Among the votes the group evaluated were nine Mr. Kerry cast against developing a missile-defense system envisioned to protect the United States from nuclear attack. Also noted are the six times in the past 10 years he voted to freeze or reduce defense spending. Mr. Kerry also cast two votes to loosen trade controls over "dual-use" technology such as U.S.-made high-speed computers that can also be used by enemies to build high-tech weaponry.

Then we have the issue about Kerry's Vietnam Military records, he has refused to allow full release of.

The Pentagon responded to a Washington Post Freedom of Information Act request by turning over just six pages of the 100-page Kerry dossier. Why? Kerry wouldn't authorized the release of the full file.

Until those Navy records are made public, Kerry is open to all sorts of accusations that otherwise can't be disproved, such as the charge Kerry was not granted an honorable discharge until March 2001, almost 30 years after his service term ended.

Does this sound like a man that has any right whatsoever to comment on the type of people that "get stuck in Iraq". He denies it now, claims his words are being misstated, yet they came from HIS mouth.

McCain calls on Kerry to apologize.

Senator Kerry owes an apology to the many thousands of Americans serving in Iraq, who answered their country's call because they are patriots and not because of any deficiencies in their education. Americans from all backgrounds, well off and less fortunate, with high school diplomas and graduate degrees, take seriously their duty to our country, and risk their lives today to defend the rest of us in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere.

They all deserve our respect and deepest gratitude for their service. The suggestion that only the least educated Americans would agree to serve in the military and fight in Iraq, is an insult to every soldier serving in combat, and should deeply offend any American with an ounce of appreciation for what they suffer and risk so that the rest of us can sleep more comfortably at night. Without them, we wouldn't live in a country where people securely possess all their God-given rights, including the right to express insensitive, ill-considered and uninformed remarks.


Then we have Kerry's response, full of denial, of course.

Washington – Senator John Kerry issued the following statement in response to White House Press Secretary Tony Snow, assorted right wing nut-jobs, and right wing talk show hosts desperately distorting Kerry’s comments about President Bush to divert attention from their disastrous record:

“If anyone thinks a veteran would criticize the more than 140,000 heroes serving in Iraq and not the president who got us stuck there, they're crazy. This is the classic G.O.P. playbook. I’m sick and tired of these despicable Republican attacks that always seem to come from those who never can be found to serve in war, but love to attack those who did.

I’m not going to be lectured by a stuffed suit White House mouthpiece standing behind a podium, or doughy Rush Limbaugh, who no doubt today will take a break from belittling Michael J. Fox’s Parkinson’s disease to start lying about me just as they have lied about Iraq. It disgusts me that these Republican hacks, who have never worn the uniform of our country lie and distort so blatantly and carelessly about those who have.

The people who owe our troops an apology are George W. Bush and Dick Cheney who misled America into war and have given us a Katrina foreign policy that has betrayed our ideals, killed and maimed our soldiers, and widened the terrorist threat instead of defeating it. These Republicans are afraid to debate veterans who live and breathe the concerns of our troops, not the empty slogans of an Administration that sent our brave troops to war without body armor.

Bottom line, these Republicans want to debate straw men because they’re afraid to debate real men. And this time it won’t work because we’re going to stay in their face with the truth and deny them even a sliver of light for their distortions. No Democrat will be bullied by an administration that has a cut and run policy in Afghanistan and a stand still and lose strategy in Iraq.”





Listen to it again... no one distorted his words. He insults our soldiers in Iraq it is quite clear and he should be ashamed of himself. Instead of apologizing though he attempts to distort his own words. Funny enough when he tries to distort other peoples words, but hilarious that he is now having to distort his own words because he has not learned to keep his mouth shut.

He calls it a botched Joke. Jokes on him.

From Tony Snow's Press Conference, he was asked about John Kerry's remarks.

Q If I could follow up, on the campaign trail, Senator Kerry was in Los Angeles and speaking to some students, saying if they were able to navigate the education system, they could get comfortable jobs, but "if you don't, you get stuck in Iraq." Can you react to that?

MR. SNOW: Yes, I'll actually give you a fuller quote. He said: "You know education, if you make the most of it, you study hard and you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. And if you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."

It sort of fits a pattern. You may recall that last year Senator Kerry -- on CBS's "Face the Nation" -- accused U.S. soldiers of terrorizing kids and children in Iraq; and recently also described troop concentrations in Baghdad as "having failed miserably."

[UPDATE] Bush also calls for Kerry to apologize.

Bush, campaigning later in Georgia, said Kerry's statement was "insulting and it is shameful."

"The members of the United States military are plenty smart and they are plenty brave and the senator from Massachusetts owes them an apology," Bush said during an appearance for a former GOP congressman, Mac Collins, who is trying to oust Democratic Rep. Jim Marshall (news, bio, voting record). There were boos at the mention of Kerry's name and cheers at Bush's call for an apology.

Dennis Hastert also weighs in.

Dennis Hastert, R-Ill., struggling to keep his party in control of Congress: "Our soldiers risk their lives in the face of grave dangers on the battlefield, and no one who chooses to courageously and selflessly defend our country can be considered 'uneducated.

Hat Tip to Stop the ACLU for the email to me showing that the American Legion is also demanding an apology from Sen. John Kerry for his careless remarks earlier.

The National Commander of The American Legion called on Sen. John Kerry to apologize for suggesting that American troops in Iraq are uneducated.

"As a constituent of Senator Kerry's I am disappointed. As leader of The American Legion, I am outraged," said National Commander Paul A. Morin. "A generation ago, Sen. Kerry slandered his comrades in Vietnam by saying that they were rapists and murderers. It wasn't true then and his warped view of today's heroes isn't true now."

While addressing a group of college students at a campaign rally in Pasadena, CA., Monday, Kerry suggested that they receive an education or "if you don't, you'll get stuck in Iraq."

"While The American Legion shares the senator's appreciation for education, the troops in Iraq represent the most sophisticated, technologically superior military that the world has ever seen," Morin said. "I think there is a thing or two that they could teach most college professors and campus elitists about the way the world works.

"And while we are on the topic of education, why doesn't the senator and his comrades in Congress improve the GI Bill so all of today's military members - reserves and guard included - can achieve the educational aspirations that the senator so highly values?" Morin said. "The senator's false and outrageous attack was over-the-top and he should apologize now."

Good News From Iraq Part #7--What CNN Doesn't Show You

In response to a few hateful individuals yesterday that insisted that children do not get an education in Iraq, they have no power, no jobs, etc etc etc, things they obviously have gotten watching the left media in all their glory without bothering to actually do any research for themselves, here are your answers. This is for Charlie and Jim, two folks who clearly hate to see any good news from Iraq. In fact many people out there cannot stand to see nor will they acknowledge all the good our brave soldiers are accomplishing in Iraq. This is your answer.

98% of the children in Iraq are vaccinated against polio, 4,500 schools have been built or refurbished and over 8,000,000 textbooks have been handed out by coalition forces, 19,000 Iraqi have been trained to protect their citizens and 18,000 border patrol have been trained, all Iraqi's, 33,000 new businesses have been started in Iraq also. Other things, little things to us here in the US, but new to the Iraqi people, like cell phones, something we take for granted but Iraqi's are just learning about, 5 million people in Iraq now use cell phones. Then we have the fact that 25% of the Iraqi Parliament is made up of women... women who had NO rights whatsoever when Saddam ruled.


Look at the good news yourself.
Watch this video and see the hope we offer, the good we have done. Don't ignore it or let it anger you, be proud that THIS is why we are there, THIS is why our men and women in the armed services believe they are where they should be and are willing to sacrifice their lives. This hope they give to the Iraqi people. Hope that many so callously would throw away.

We cannot abandon this young democracy, we cannot let those children go back to what once was. It takes time to learn how to be free, we might not understand that, but they do, our soldiers do, our president does. Do you?

Do you understand that the major left media outlets will not tell you this information and why? It does not make for headlines.

That is only part of the reason though, Those papers you read or channels you watch such as CNN (Communist News Network) have a political agenda and they use you, the American people to accomplish THEIR goals, political goals. They do not care to show you all the good in Iraq because that would hinder their efforts to influence the elections. THINK, do not just swallow all the crap they pour down your throat, think for yourselves for a change. READ, if you are here reading this, you know how to use a computer, start looking up these numbers, verify them for yourself, then ask yourself and ask your "news" outlets, why, why do they not show you the truth, or better yet, why do they only show you half of the truth, if that? Why do they not give you the full picture? Why do want us to lose this war on terror? More importantly, why do the Democrats wish to lose this war on terror?

These people that made such silly comments without the facts yesterday also asked why our economy wasn't as good as it should be. Well, our dow is at an all time high, then they respond that it is barely above where it was before Bush took office. Yet we had 9/11, Katrina and we are at war and it STILL is higher than when he started... That is an amazing job, these naysayers simply do not have the class to admit anything good about that either.

10/31/06- BAGHDAD, Iraq — Coalition Forces killed five terrorists and detained one suspected terrorist Tuesday morning during a raid in Baghdad that targeted individuals associated with a suspected senior leader of an al-Qaeda in Iraq network.

Pakistan Raid--We are Getting Closer

Eighty killed at an al-Qaeda training school in Pakistan. Seems the target of the attack was Ayman al Zawahiri.

ABC is claiming that Pakistan intelligence sources say that it was a US predator drone that leveled the madrassa, earlier reports say it was a Pakistan helicopter. Doesn't matter, either way 80 militants are dead and good riddance.

The raid was launched after US military received tips and examined information from Predator, that Zawahiri was staying at the madrassa.

Faqir Mohammed's deputy, Maulana Liaquat Ali Hussain was killed in the attack. According to NBC, Mohammed has been accused of providing shelter to militants and even invited bin Laden’s deputy, Ayman al-Zawahri, to the madrassa.

In his public speeches Mohammed has said it is our moral and religious obligation to support muhajadeen, to provide protection for muhajadeen, and shelter for others who have left their homes to perform jihad.

Mohammed was very emotional after the attack and swore jihad against what he called occupation forces.

Poor baby is upset.

According to the Fourth Rail, “The bodies of 20 people wrapped in sheets were laid out at funeral prayers nearby after the attack.” News reports are beginning to claim children were killed in the attack, which is possible as the Taliban has been know to place civilians in military sites to create such a situation. Madrassa are also used to indoctrinate youths into the Taliban's radical ideology. An American intelligence source tells us that this was but one of "22 known camps in the Federally Administered Tribal Agencies."

Of course Islamic leaders and al-Qaeda linked militants are calling for demonstrations to protest the attack according to Wapo.

The raid was launched after the madrassa's leaders, headed by cleric Liaquat Hussain, rejected government warnings to stop using the school as a training camp for terrorists, said army spokesman Maj. Gen. Shaukat Sultan.

"These militants were involved in actions inside Pakistan and probably in Afghanistan," Sultan told The Associated Press.

Militant groups in Bajur are believed to ferry fighters, weapons and supplies to Afghanistan to target U.S. forces there and Pakistani soldiers on this side of the ethnic-Pashtun majority tribal belt.

AP says that Sultan denied reports that al-Zawahri was in the area at the time of the attack. "It is all wrong, speculative and we launched this operation on our own to target a training facility," he said. A Bajur-area intelligence official said word was spreading among residents that al-Zawahri may have been expected at the madrassa, but he said the reports were wrong.

Hussain, the cleric believed to have been a deputy of al-Zawahri, was among those killed, the intelligence official and residents said.

Other news from Afghanistan, in Kabul, 55 more insurgents were killed and 20 more militants injured in a firefight in Daychopan district of Zabul province.

The battle came on the heels of another major fight between militants and NATO and Afghan troops Saturday in neighboring Uruzgan province in which 70 insurgents were killed after they attacked a military base north of Tarin Kowt.

We are getting closer... some reports, although disputed say that Zawahiri is boxed in a 40 mile area and they expect his capture within months. We shall see.

Anger-- People Who Get Hostile About Good News.

Since I started writing my pieces "Good News In Iraq", I have noticed a trend. It consists of people that cannot handle hearing any good news from Iraq. Their anti-war philosophy has infested itself into their brains, they simply lose their minds when confronted with anything good that comes from the war in Iraq.

So, I wondered what on earth could be wrong with these people. I am willing to admit to the things that have gone wrong, I have my eyes wide open about the bad news that comes from Iraq, but I thought it might be helpful to show people some of the good also, because the left media and the Democratic party certainly won't acknowledge it or show it. It is almost like a dirty little secret.

I looked it up, it seems to be a form of an anger disorder, not being a shrink, I can only guess here and go by what I am seeing in this trend. The hostility is so over the top, that I cannot find any other explanation for it.

Psychology of Anger:

Anger is a natural and mostly automatic response to pain of one form or another (physical or emotional). Anger can occur when people don't feel well, feel rejected, feel threatened, or experience some loss. The type of pain does not matter; the important thing is that the pain experienced is unpleasant. Because anger never occurs in isolation but rather is necessarily preceded by pain feelings, it is often characterized as a 'secondhand' emotion.

Pain alone is not enough to cause anger. Anger occurs when pain is combined with some anger-triggering thought. Thoughts that can trigger anger include personal assessments, assumptions, evaluations, or interpretations of situations that makes people think that someone else is attempting (consciously or not) to hurt them. In this sense, anger is a social emotion; You always have a target that your anger is directed against (even if that target is yourself). Feelings of pain, combined with anger-triggering thoughts motivate you to take action, face threats and defend yourself by striking out against the target you think is causing you pain.

A Substitute Emotion

Anger can also be a substitute emotion. By this we mean that sometimes people make themselves angry so that they don't have to feel pain. People change their feelings of pain into anger because it feels better to be angry than it does to be in pain. This changing of pain into anger may be done consciously or unconsciously.

Being angry rather than simply in pain has a number of advantages, primarily among them distraction. People in pain generally think about their pain. However, angry people think about harming those who have caused pain. Part of the transmutation of pain into anger involves an attention shift – from self-focus to other-focus. Anger thus temporarily protects people from having to recognize and deal with their painful real feelings; you get to worry about getting back at the people you're angry with instead. Making yourself angry can help you to hide the reality that you find a situation frightening or that you feel vulnerable.

In addition to providing a good smoke screen for feelings of vulnerability, becoming angry also creates a feeling of righteousness, power and moral superiority that is not present when someone is merely in pain. When you are angry, you are angry with cause. "The people who have hurt me are wrong – they should be punished" is the common refrain. It is very rare that someone will get angry with someone they do not think has harmed them in some significant fashion.

The definition of whether someone's anger is a problem often turns on whether or not other people agree with them that their anger, and the actions they take in the name of their anger, is justified. Angry people most always feel that their anger is justified. However, other people don't always agree. The social judgment of anger creates real consequences for the angry person. An angry person may feel justified in committing an angry, aggressive action, but if a judge or jury of peers do not see it that way, that angry person may still go to jail. If a boss doesn't agree that anger expressed towards a customer is justified, a job may still be lost. If a spouse doesn't agree that anger was justified, a marriage may have problems.

Whether justified or unjustified, the seductive feeling of righteousness associated with anger offers a powerful temporary boost to self-esteem. It is more satisfying to feel angry than to acknowledge the painful feelings associated with vulnerability. You can use anger to convert feelings of vulnerability and helplessness into feelings of control and power. Some people develop an unconscious habit of transforming almost all of their vulnerable feelings into anger so they can avoid having to deal with them. The problem becomes that even when anger distracts you from the fact that you feel vulnerable, you still at some level feel vulnerable. Anger cannot make pain disappear – it only distracts you from it. Anger generally does not resolve or address the problems that made you feel fearful or vulnerable in the first place, and it can create new problems, including social and health issues.

All I can say, is I hope some of these people get help, they obviously need it.

I also have a suggestion for those that cannot handle seeing the Good News From Iraq: DO NOT COME TO THIS SITE, because I am going to keep posting it, once every day, except weekends, because they do not update it on weekends. If you cannot take it, stay away.

There is good news, good things happening, 14 out of 18 provinces are practically violence free and I intend to let my readers know this, every single day.

Rove's Ruminations Part #2


Not long ago I did a piece on Karl Rove called
Rove's Ruminations, where I gave some history on Karl Rove and opinions from reporters and others that have spoken with him.

Today, Wapo has yet another piece on Rove, whom they seem to have some fixation on, and I found some interesting comments in that article.

A quote from Bolten about sums up my analysis of Karl Rove.

"I believe Karl Rove," Bolten said in an interview in his West Wing office Friday. "Karl Rove, somewhere inside that massive brain of his, has figured out the political landscape more clearly than the entire collection of conventional-wisdom pundits and pollsters in the entire city of Washington."

Wapo also points out the Democrats immense paranoia about Rove.

The flip side of adulation is paranoia. Many Democrats are convinced Rove has some trick up his sleeve -- Osama bin Laden in the freezer, perhaps, ready for release just before Election Day -- that will save the Republicans from electoral disaster this fall.

Rove's specific words on Iraq and the war we are fighting there are especially keen and simple.

Rove sarcastically questioned Rep. John P. Murtha's plan for pulling troops out of Iraq and creating a rapid-response force to deal with contingencies in the Middle East, possibly at the American base in Okinawa. "I am from Texas -- I am a simple boy," Rove joked, before noting that Okinawa is close to 5,000 miles from Baghdad.

"It is foolishness to suggest that this is a real plan for America," Rove said. "The real plan is this: Fight, beat 'em, win."

Well said.

When researching Rove and there is a ton of sites with his name in them, I ran across something very telling about the liberals and the Democratic party. As they publicly stood by the President, supposedly showing loyalty after 9/11, Moveon.org , a liberal organization was busy submitting a petition to use restraint in responding to those responsible for 9/11.

3,000 of our American citizens dead and buried under the rubble of the World Trade Center and the liberals felt we should not respond with every fiber of our being, using every resource available. THIS is who thinks they can handle our national security.

In a June 22, 2005 speech to the New York Conservative Party Rove argued that the starkest illustration of the differences between conservative and liberal values was in the response to the September 11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. "Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 and the attacks and prepared for war; liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers," he said.

"In the wake of 9/11, conservatives believed it was time to unleash the might and power of the United States military against the Taliban; in the wake of 9/11, liberals believed it was time toÂ… submit a petition. I am not joking. Submitting a petition is precisely what Moveon.org did. It was a petition imploring the powers that be to 'use moderation and restraint in responding to theÂ… terrorist attacks against the United States'," he said.

The Democratic party is not competent enough to handle National Security and although people may think they are simply voting in a local election, what they need to remember is that if they vote for a Democratic candidate, they could be handing them the power to hinder the Presidents ability to keep US, the American people, safe. I have shown here, time and time again the weak stance the Democratic party has taken on our national security, they have voted against 90% or more of the bills placed in front of them dealing with our security.

As I showed you in my piece "Agenda for the Common Good: Be Damned, they state clearly that they wish to raise taxes, rollback all the tax cuts that have helped our economy, cut funding for our troops which will put them in more danger than they are already in and make the President into a lame duck president.... which is a quote from Nancy Pelosi's mouth.

At a time of war, in Iraq and in Afghanistan, how safe will our soldiers be with a speaker of the house doing everything in her power to make the president, the commander in chief, a lame duck? How does this make us safer? How does this protect our soldiers?

Get out and vote and vote Republican. Whether you agree with each and every decision they have made, there is no doubt that they are the party that has OUR national security as their first priority.

Good News From Iraq Part #6--What Left Media Doesn't Show You

As promised, the news from Iraq that you do not hear on CNN and from the left media.

You have to ask yourself, why the news outlets are so biased that they cannot bring themselves to show the world some of the good that comes from Iraq?

Our soldiers deserve to have their stories told, to have their accomplishments acknowledged, to be hailed as the heroes they are.

When I see a picture of our soldiers with the children of Iraq, the new generation of Iraq I understand they will understand democracy and they will be friends and allies of the US, because we helped them in their desire to be free of dictatorship.

10/30/06- BAGHDAD – Special Iraqi Police forces, with coalition advisers, conducted a raid Oct. 29 in al Kut and captured nine members of a bomb-making cell and a cache of weapons, improvised explosive devices and components for making IEDs, which target Iraqi security forces and civilians.

10/30/06- BAGHDAD, Iraq – Coalition Forces engaged and killed two terrorists while en route to their objective in Balad on Sunday during an early morning raid.

10/29/06- BAGHDAD, Iraq — Coalition aircraft thwarted two separate terrorist ambushes as ground forces moved toward their objective early Sunday morning near Balad.

Coalition Forces encountered terrorist activity on two separate occasions along their travel route. After positive identification of the enemy by ground forces and with assistance from Iraqi Police, coalition aircraft engaged the targets with precision fires, killing four terrorists in one engagement and in conjunction with ground forces killed an estimated 13 others in a subsequent engagement along the same route.

10/29/06- BAGHDAD – Special Iraqi Army forces, with Coalition advisers, conducted a raid in western Baghdad Oct. 29 and captured a large weapons cache and components used for making improvised explosive devices.

Iraqi forces established a cordon around the Shansal Mosque and entered to search for IED components and weapons believed to be stored there. The items found were being used by insurgents operating against Iraqi civilians and Iraqi Army soldiers in the Jihad district.

10/29/06- CAMP FALLUJAH, Iraq – Multi National Forces-West established a Central Ramadi Security Station Friday as part of its continued operations to eliminate the insurgent presence in Ramadi.

The establishment of the Security Station has been a long-standing step to increase security for the citizens. More than eight new positions in the city have been established since June.

10/28/06- BAGHDAD, Iraq – Coalition Forces killed a terrorist Saturday morning and detained an individual responsible for the movement of foreign fighters into Iraq during a raid south of Baghdad.

Saturday’s raid was part of an ongoing effort to diminish al-Qaeda in Iraq car bombing capabilities in the Baghdad area. During October, Coalition Forces detained eight other key players and 15 known associates.

10/28/06- RAMADI, Iraq – Iraqi Police, with the assistance of local civilians, discovered several weapons caches throughout the week, as a result of the Iraqi Security Force efforts in Western Ramadi.

Ramadi Police of the Al Jazeera IP Station, working together with concerned citizens, discovered multiple explosives and weapons Wednesday. On a tip from residents, the Iraqi Police investigated reports of an unexploded object. The investigation revealed more than expected. The police found multiple munitions that could have been used to harm the local residents and Iraqi Security Forces.

10/28/06- BAGHDAD – Iraqi Army and Multi-National Division – Baghdad Soldiers detained nine suspected terrorists in Baghdad Thursday.

Patrols from 4th Battalion, 1st Brigade, 4th Iraqi Army Division, supported by Soldiers from 1st Battalion, 66th Armor Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, conducted combined combat operations, detained six terrorists and seized weapons in Tarmiya, north of Baghdad, at approximately 3:30 a.m. Thursday.

10/28/06- BAGHDAD – Multi-National Division – Baghdad Soldiers wounded three terrorists and killed one other involved in death squad activity at approximately 8 a.m. Thursday in Baghdad’s Mansour neighborhood.

While conducting security patrols in the area, Soldiers from MND-B’s 172nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team heard small-arms fire near their location and noticed three men, one of whom was wearing a black ski mask, running away from a building toward a getaway car.

The Soldiers immediately engaged the trio, killing one and wounded another. The third terrorist made it to the getaway vehicle, which was occupied by two suspected terrorists. The vehicle sped off in an attempt to escape capture.

MND-B Soldiers engaged the vehicle to disable it. The driver drove into a residential gate and the vehicle came to a halt.

I think it is a pity that the left media in their desire to push their own agenda, refuses to acknowledge the good work, the brave accomplishments that our great soldiers are achieving in Iraq and in Afghanistan.

Do these people even care about our soldiers at all? Doesn't seem like it, does it? Otherwise they would be telling the American people of these types of accomplishments.

I am an American fighting man.

I am an American fighting man. I serve in the forces which guard my country and our way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense. I will never surrender of my own free will. If in command I will never surrender my men while they still have the means to resist. If I am captured I will continue to resist by all means available. I will make every effort to escape and aid others to escape. I will accept neither parole nor special favors from the enemy. If I become a prisoner of war, I will keep faith with my fellow prisoners. I will give no information or take part in any action which might be harmful to my comrades. If I am senior, I will take command. If not I will obey the lawful orders of those appointed over me and will back them up in every way. When questioned, should I become a prisoner of war, I am required to give name, rank, service number, and date of birth. I will evade answering further questions to the utmost of my ability. I will make no written statements disloyal to my country and its allies or harmful to their cause. I will never forget that I am an American fighting man, responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles which made my country free. I will trust in my God and in the United States of America.

I first uttered these words over twenty years ago when I was sworn in to the armed services, the army being my choice, in Memphis, TN. As I look back, now, on the years in between and the things that have happened, I sit sometimes and I wonder what it was that prompted me to enlist in the armed forces, what motivated my thinking, and my acting upon said thought processes. In doing so, I’ve spoken to other veterans through the years, asking them the same questions that I asked of myself. The answers varied, of course, from individual to individual, some having been drafted and having found a home and a way of life that they could understand and appreciate, some of us, like me, volunteers in an era after the draft had long been done away with.

My own plans were to have retired from the army, however, thanks to the budget cuts enacted by the Graham-Rudman-Hollings Act; my plans were drastically changed as the army began eliminating some of us “big boys” who had gone into service under the maximum weight, LOST weight, and were discharged for being OVER weight after the Act went into effect. I won’t go into how that made me feel at the time, or the resentment I still feel over it now, because that isn’t the purpose of this piece. I was asked if I would write a piece on the heart and mind of the American soldier, and drawing from my own experiences and the conversations with others through the years, that’s what I’m going to attempt to do.

From as far back as I can remember, I wanted to be a soldier. I could not, and still can not, see the flag waving proudly and hear the national anthem being played without feeling a lump in my throat and my eyes misting at the heavy weight of what it means to me to be an American, and the pride that I have in our country and our way of life, along with the realization of the sacrifices made by others before me for us to have our rights today. I believed in the ideals of our country, our nation, from my earliest memories. My thoughts, my beliefs, where and still are that our way of life was and is to be defended and upheld, for ourselves, for our families and loved ones, for our children and our children’s children. I know that those are some deep thoughts for a child, but I was always a child of deep thought, a state that has followed me into my adult years.

When I was younger, I had difficulty expressing my thoughts in the spoken word, again, a condition that sometimes gives me trouble still, but if I could sit down long enough to think, and to write, I could put forth my ideas in what could be, more or less, a comprehensive format for others to follow and understand what was on my mind.

I’m rambling

The heart of the soldier is the heart of someone who is willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for the freedom of others. Most often, the most immediate thoughts are of those comrades in arms on the battlefield and loved ones back home when the soldier is confronted with the possibility of death. This doesn’t undermine the deep rooted belief of the soldier in ideals and principles worth fighting for, and in some cases, worth dying for. The belief that life should be lived freely is a common bond amongst those who enter the armed forces of our country, no matter if the service is entered for college money or for other reasons. Freedom, and the love of freedom, motivates the majority of us to commit our lives, or a portion of our lives, to our nation’s defense. Our very precepts were established by men willing to fight and die for a cause they believed in, a struggle to be free of an oppressive and overbearing government. Thomas Jefferson put these beliefs into words with the Declaration of Independence when he wrote them, stating “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed…” The truth and meaning of these words, and the words preceding and following them, are just as applicable today as they were when our fledgling nation was in it’s infancy, when the thought of the United States was merely a concept, not a reality. The spirit of these words has been the driving force behind our nation’s military membership since the days before we WERE a nation, when we were still colonies under British rule fighting for independence.

We stand ready, soldiers past and present, to fight to defend our way of life, our freedom, our rights as citizens of this nation to live freely, to think freely, to believe, to live, to love, and to die as free men and women. The marines have a saying, “once a marine, always a marine.” I find this to be true of the majority of veterans in regards to their branches of service. I am as much a soldier today as I was when I was in uniform, ready and willing to fight and, if need be, die for the cause of freedom for my countrymen.

There are those out there, still today, who despise us for what we are, what we do, what we stand for, calling us names, degrading us, despising us. That is their right, and their choice. As they make that choice, it would do well for them to remember this one key fact: they have those rights because American servicemen and women have served to ensure that those rights are preserved.

The words may have changed in recent years to become more “inclusive” and politically correct to “I am an American Soldier,” but the spirit still stands the same as the words I recited, with pride, over twenty years ago when I was sworn in to service. I was, and still am, an American fighting man…


Ford's Flippant Faux Pas

Harold Ford has decided to dig deep to pull yet another faux pas with his latest comments about how Democrats Fear and Love God and Republicans just fear God.

HAROLD FORD, JR.: My friend Lincoln Davis who chairs our campaign says there are, there’s one big difference between us and misfortunate Republicans when it comes to our faith: he said that Republicans fear the Lord; he said Democrats fear AND love the Lord

The this piece from "The Black Commentator"

This is not his first forray into the land of speaking about things he has no idea about.

In 2001:

Congressman Ford had issued a press release Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000 calling for a public press conference with Vice President Al Gore to denounce General Forrest and his career as a Confederate cavalry leader and later a reputed member of
the Ku Klux Klan.

On Wednesday, Aug. 2, under questioning by TV reporter Anna Marie Hartman, pointing out that General Forrest was a brilliant military commander, enlisted 65 black troopers in his cavalry, was a prominent civic leader, had disbanded the KuKlux in 1869, and had promoted black employment opportunities after the war, Congressman Ford conceded that Forrest was indeed a hero in the South.

When told that his comments had offended the Sons of Confederate Veterans, historians, and others, Ford brusquely replied, "I don't want to offend the Sons of Confederate Veterans, or anyone else, and the matter is dropped!!" Upon further prompting from Ms. Hartman, Congressman Ford stated that he had not presented this to Vice President Gore and had no further intentions of bringing it up.

The regionally-televised interview on NBC Channel 5 Memphis, the most powerful & most watched television station in the Mid- South area, was interspersed with pictures of Forrest monuments & markers, historical statements from Mr. Millar,comments by Ms. Hartman, and the above comments by Congressman Ford.

In a summation question from Ms. Hartman, Lee Millar stated that "when the North was invading Tennessee General Forrest whipped them at every turn. He's a hero to the South and throughout the world. And Congressman Ford's attempted attack is nothing more than a political ploy to attract attention and to distract the media from the on-going GOP convention."

"Listen to Ford talk, and he is the very measure of a modern Southern Democrat. His voting record, however, tells a slightly different tale. Ford is among the most liberal members of the Tennessee delegation, with a lifetime rating of 20 (on a scale of 0 to 100, 100 being arch-conservative) from the American Conservative Union. The ratings index for that group’s liberal counterpart, the Americans for Democratic Action, reflects the same thing, just in reverse... "

Looks are not everything. A person should have some honor. I am the first to admit, there are not many politicians these days that do have honor, but they should.

We also have the fact that Harold Ford likes to claim he is a lawyer, as shown here, yet as we all know, you have to pass the bar exam to be a lawyer and Ford failed it in February of 1997.
After watching the two videos I linked to, perhaps you will come to the same conclusion I have... he lied.

Then there is the ultimate stupidity, where he insults his great-grandparents by claiming that his great-grandparents were whites living their lives as blacks.

Maybe the apple doesn't fall far from the tree after all.

Harold Ford, Jr. hails from an enormous, colorful family, including 91 first cousins. Seven Fords have held political office, 3 who were indicted of federal charges. One, Uncle Emmitt, was convicted in 1981 on insurance fraud. Uncle John, the most notorious Ford with 3 ex-wives, 12 children, loads of messy entanglements and a penchant for speeding while toting a gun, awaits trial on bribery charges.

I guess the bottomline for me is he should not be casting stones at Republicans for their stance on God and religion because those stones could come back and knock his block off.
