Hearing strange noises in your head? Suffering from excruciating headaches? Feeling facial pain? Well, you may just have flesh eating maggots in your head!
British 27 year-old Rochelle Harris visited Peru and on her way home she developed a massive, excruciating headache and heard strange scratching noises inside of her head, felt facial pain and her ear started leaking fluid.
Harris went her local Accident and Emergency department at the Royal Derby Hospital. The doctors thought she had an ear infection and what they eventually discovered, after sending her to a specialist, horrified her, as it would anybody.
A New World Army Screw Worm fly had laid eggs in her ear, which burrowed into her ear canal and left her with flesh eating maggots in her head.
