On April 2, 2012, CNN reported that Mitt Romney had his "work cut out for him to reach out to female voters," as they reported on a USA Today/Gallup poll which gave Obama and 18-point lead against Romney with women. CNN, in that same article pointed to their own recently released poll where Obama held a 23 percent lead against Romney with women.
Other polls also point to a gender gap: A CNN/ORC International survey released last week indicated Obama leading Romney nationwide among registered voters by 11 points, 54%-43%, up from a 5-point advantage in February. Among women, the president's lead grows to a 60%-37% margin.
April 16, 2012, CNN reports:
The survey indicates women voters back Obama over Romney by 16 points (55%-39%), virtually unchanged from an 18-point advantage among women for the president in CNN polling last month.
Now that Romney has obtained the delegates needed to be the official presumptive Republican nominee, CNN/ORC has published another poll, conducted May 29 to 31, 2012 and the gender gap for Obama over Romney is down to 3 percent, which is within the margin of error which is +/-4.5.

The Hill reported on the CNN/ORC poll recently released but while finding the previous CNN articles showing Obama's rather large lead among women was easy, a Google search for "CNN gender gap" (Same search term I used to find their previous articles) in the last week hasn't brought up any CNN articles revealing how Romney has narrowed the gender gap to within the margin of error.
I am guessing their article will be forthcoming or maybe Google just missed it?
[Update] Via Memeorandum, I see CNN did report a CNN/ORC poll, on George Bush's popularity instead of the gender gap issue which is actually relevant to the 2012 campaign season.
Is Bush running for something again and I just missed it??? (Yes, that is sarcasm.)
[Update #2] Doing a search by date on the CNN site, I find a few more articles referring to the CNN/ORC poll conducted from May 29-31.
