Police dashcam video that has surfaced shows a man, 38 year-old Marlon Brown who Florida police were attempting to stop due to a seatbelt violation, fled his vehicle and ran on foot, with police chasing after him. During that chase, one cop car driven by DeLand Police Officer James Harris, passed another and after Brown slipped and fell, the cop drove right over him, killing him.
Harris was terminated from he department for "violation in police pursuit policy," and Brown's ex-wife received $550,000 from the city of DeLand for his death.
Brown had been arrested more than a dozen times and had 18 misdemeanor charges, five felony charges, and three felony convictions.
Brown has an array of charges such as:
Felony Possession Of a Controlled Substance
Battery (multiple)
Uttering Forged Checks (multiple)
Grand Theft
Driving On A Suspended License (multiple).
