Following the Move America Forward Victory Tour: All Day Updates: BUMPED TO TOP

[Rolling updates below] Latest, 200+ Move America Supporters and only 40+ counter protesters actually showed up....LOL

COMMENTS FROM THE ORIGINAL THREAD CAN BE FOUND HERE.

This is the thread where we will be posting all day updates on the Victory Tour sponsored by Move America Forward and partnered with multiple other organizations.

As the calls come in and the photos uploaded we will be bring them to you here.

Chairman of Move America Forward, Melanie Morgan has made a couple statements in the last two days, which we brought you, thanks to Take Our Country Back, here and here.

Today we see that the Sacramento, CA.-based Move America Forward has made the news in the RENO GAZETTE-JOURNAL, drumming up support for the war.

A 27-city tour touting U.S. successes in Iraq kicks off Monday in Carson City with a rally and collection of cards and letters for injured troops.

Move America Forward's "Fight for Victory Tour" also is scheduled to have a speech by Duncan Hunter, ranking member of the House Armed Services Committee and a California Republican representing San Diego County.

Mobilizing support

The goal is to mobilize national support in advance of Gen. David Petraeus' mid-

September report to Congress on the progress of the war in Iraq.

"We want to get people to focus on Gen. Petraeus and Ambassador (Ryan) Crocker's report that contrary to the popular misperception, we're actually making a lot of progress on the war on terror," said Sal Russo, a strategist for the

Sacramento-based Move America Forward.

"We've been defeating al-Qaida decisively. It's part of the story that gets lost because so much of the story has been focused on how Iraq has been developing its own government, which is slower than we like."

[Update] While we are waiting for the first updates to come in from Carson City, Nevada, it is well worth the time to note that according to McClatchy, via a graph no less, that Combat Deaths are down since the surge began. Of course they claim to not understand the reasons for it...lol

WASHINGTON — American combat deaths in Iraq have dropped by half in the three months since the buildup of 28,000 additional U.S. troops reached full strength, surprising analysts and dividing them as to why.

U.S. officials had predicted that the increase would lead to higher American casualties as the troops "took the fight to the enemy." But that hasn't happened, even though U.S. forces have launched major offensives involving thousands of troops north and south of Baghdad.

American combat casualties have dropped to their lowest levels this year, even as violence involving Iraqis remains high.

Military officials and observers are wondering whether the lower U.S. casualties are a sign of success or an indication that insurgents and militiamen simply chose a different battlefield when the Americans mounted their offensive in Iraq's capital.

"Nobody here is doing cartwheels yet," said one senior military official at the Pentagon, who requested anonymity in order to speak freely.

[Update #3]
Latest, 200+ Move America Supporters and only 40+ counter protesters actually showed up....LOL

Move America Forward’s merry band of caravaners are headed west on Interstate 80- to Sacramento after an inspiring gathering of patriots in Carson City, Nev. (So excuse my writing if it’s a bit off. I’m in a moving motorhome!)

More than 200 people showed up in red, white and blue at MAF’s first stop on our “Fight for Victory Tour” and heard talks from military mothers, Chairman Melanie Morgan, Vice Chairman Lt. Col. Buzz Patterson, and Presidential candidate Duncan Hunter.

Across the street in front of the office of Sen. Harry “cut-and-run” Reid were about 40 lefties who support surrender in Iraq. A couple stray 5150s (police code for nuts) ventured to the right side to stir up some problems.

The pro-troop crowd waved flags and listened to vocalist Diana Nagy sing the “Star Spangled Banner” and “God Bless America” as the leftists howled like wounded hyenas “war mongers.”

The problem with their thoughtful position is they were yelling at a group that included decorated veterans from past wars, children, soldiers, and Gold Star families, those whose sons had given their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Debbie Lee’s son was the first Navy Seal to give his life in Iraq. Her message was simple: We should all work together, Republicans and Democrats, to win the war against radical Muslim Jihadists who want to kill us because we are Americans.
Lee will continue in MAF’s cross country caravan that ends in Washington D.C. where thousands of patriots will gather to show Congress that America supports our troops and their mission.

Deborah Johns is a Blue Star mother whose son has served three tours in Iraq and signed up for a fourth. She told the cheering crowd that defeat in Iraq will only happen if the left forces a loss.

Hunter, who just won the Republican straw poll in Texas, talked about his son who has served in Iraq and how he knows America is winning in the Middle Eastern country.

People came to Nevada from California and all around both states. Many are now in our caravan and heading back to California.

Next stop: Sacramento.
