Seems liberals are unhappy with the character that plays "Satan" in the History Channel's 10-hour television series "The Bible," because it resembles Barack Obama. Some liberals goes as far as to claim it was a "conscious" choice on the part of the creators.
The History Channel immediately denied the similarities were intentional:
“HISTORY channel has the highest respect for President Obama,” the network said in a press release. "The series was produced with an international and diverse cast of respected actors. It's unfortunate that anyone made this false connection. HISTORY’s ‘The Bible’ is meant to enlighten people on its rich stories and deep history.”Then we have the conspiracy theorists that ignore the fact that the actor in question has been portrayed as Satanic characters prior to Obama becoming president, and they claim "It’s not a coincidence..."
Executive producers Mark Burnett and Roma Downey blasted the controversy as “utter nonsense” in the same release.
“The actor who played Satan, Mehdi Ouzaani, is a highly acclaimed Moroccan actor. He has previously played parts in several Biblical epics– including Satanic characters long before Barack Obama was elected as our president,” the pair said.
Call me amused.
