The news: Newsmax and ION Television has set up a Republican debate with Donald Trump as the Moderator, for December 27, 2011, in Des Moines to be shown on ION Television. (Source)
The invitations to the debate have gone out to the GOP candidates. Huntsman has declined, via spokeman Tim Miller stating "Lol. We look forward to watching Mitt and Newt suck-up to The Donald with a big bowl of popcorn," in an email sent to Business Insider.
Newsmax sent candidates the invitation on Friday afternoon. It began, "We are pleased to cordially invite you to “The Newsmax Ion Television 2012 Presidential Debate,” moderated by a truly great American, Mr. Donald J. Trump....."
Via Newsmax:
The Newsmax ION Television Debate will be held at the Hoyt Sherman Theater in Des Moines, Iowa, from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m. ET – and will be the last forum of major Republican presidential candidates a week before the Jan. 3, 2012 Iowa caucus.
The Newsmax ION Television Debate will be televised live nationwide on ION Television to 99 million U.S. homes and online by Newsmax.com. It will be the final meeting of the Republican candidates before the Iowa Caucus on Jan. 3, 2012. All of the major Republican presidential candidates have been invited to participate.
Donald Trump has been a vocal critic of Barack Obama and his job performance to date, which he continues on his Twitter account consistently, calling Obama the "habitual vacationer" and claiming he has "has campaigned on our dime more than any previous president in history," as well leaving messages to Obama saying "America is a capitalistic country. Get over it and get on with it!"
Trump's candid criticisms of Obama has made him popular with the conservative base, and I will definitely have my popcorn popped and be watching on December 27, if any of the candidates RSVP a yes!!
It doesn't hurt that the very news of this being planned has liberal heads exploding across the Internet.
Let the Obama Bash begin!!
