RedState's Erick Erickson: 'Birfers and Truthers are not welcome here. Period. End of Story'

Birfers aka Birthers are those that claim Barack Obama is not a U.S. born citizen, therefore not eligible to be the President of the Untied States.

Truthers are those that believe that the United States Government was involved with causing 9-11.

RedState:

We’ve always banned truthers at RedState. Increasingly, we have also banned a number of individuals who think Barack Obama is disqualified from being President because despite the Republican Governor of Hawaii confirming the legitimacy of the Democratic President’s birth origin as a citizen of the United States these birthers (”birfers” because it sounds as crazy as they are) refuse to move on.

Today I want to reaffirm and make it more definitive. If you think 9/11 was an inside job or you really want to debate whether or not Barack Obama is an American citizen eligible to be President, RedState is not a place for you.

Birfers and Truthers are not welcome here. Period. End of Story.

Each website and/or blog owner has the right to ban whomever they choose, this is Erickson's right whether you agree with his reasoning or not.

I often wondered about Truthers and how, despite all evidence to the contrary, could doubt what happened on 9-11, especially with all the film footage of the events that transpired that day.

I also have wondered about the birther movement and despite courts across the country dismissing cases that claim Barack Obama is not a U.S. citizen, it is a movement, much like the truthers, that hasn't died down any.

Erickson points out that many of the same people who are considered truthers are also birthers, the groups overlap.

That overlap to me is the most interesting part though.

Truthers, like Rosie O'Donnell, just as an example, are far left liberals that blamed George Bush and his administration for 9-11, some simply questioning the events as reported, others believing the attack was deliberate.

Birthers question the legitimacy of Barack Obama's eligibility to be a U.S. President on the grounds that they do not believe him to be a natural born citizen.

On first assumption, because Barack Obama is a Democrat/liberal, I assumed that the birthers were far far right conservatives and many of them are associating themselves with conservatives just as truthers associated themselves with liberals.

Both groups, in many quarters are considered "conspiracy theorists".

Hence the overlapping as evidenced by Philip J. Berg, a Pennsylvania attorney and 9/11 conspiracy theorist; Berg describes himself as a "moderate to liberal" Democrat who backed Hillary Clinton for president.

For the record, while Erickson and RedState have every right to ban whomever they want from their site, we will not be following suit and that is no criticism against them for doing so, to each there own.

I don't care if someone is a birther, or a truther, I would only hope that if people comment about either of the two topics, they present some reasoning, links, facts, not just conspiracy theories.

Therein lies the problem for both birthers and truthers, while circumstantial evidence may "imply" or bring up questions, neither group, in my opinion, have facts to back them up, facts that could be held to the standard of being fact in a court of law.
