The national Democrat Party, the Democrat Party of Nevada, the Washoe County Democrat Party and the Carson City Democrat Party have all teamed up together to organize a counter-rally against Move America Forward's "Fight for Victory Tour" kickoff event in Carson City, Nevada on Monday, September 3, 2007.
This is fascinating to the staff and board members at Move America Forward because we welcome, and have invited to speak at our rallies, persons of ALL political parties who support our troops AND their missions in the war on terrorism.
How a major political party could organize a national effort to counter a "Fight for Victory Tour" is baffling? Do these political activists *not* support Victory for U.S. troops in Iraq?
Here's just a sampling of the Democrat Party websites that we've come across that are mobilizing against us. PLEASE - we urge you to help us ensure we have a giant turnout of pro-troop supporters of ALL political parties who will offer our troops the support they need to achieve SUCCESS in their missions and VICTORY for this nation. Now folks, a couple quick notes here:
The Move America Forward Rallies start at Carson City, at the offices of Harry Reid and as this email I have forwarded to you both shows, the Nevada State Democratic Party and the Washoe Democratic party are planning a counter rally, which in and of itself isn't surprising or news, but if you look on those two sites with this announcement, you will see the following:
*Move America Forward is led by neo-conservative radio host Melanie Morgan, who once told the San Francisco Chronicle that the editor of the New York Times should be tried for treason and "sent to the gas chamber," for reporting violations of civil liberties by the Bush Administrationf, (San Francisco Chronicle, "New chapter in battle of words over tracking terrorist financing" 6/29/06)

(Please note the Nevada State Democratic Party states that her comment was "for reporting violations of civil liberties by the Bush Administration ".
In reality her full comment was this""If he were to be tried and convicted of treason, yes, I would have no problem with him being sent to the gas chamber," Morgan, whose show airs on KSFO-AM, told The Chronicle on Wednesday. "It is about revealing classified secrets in the time of war. And the media has got to take responsibility for revealing classified information that is putting American lives at risk.")
As the original article shows, and please notice although they quoted from the article, they did not link to the article because the Nevada Democratic Party was misrepresenting Ms.Morgan's quote by saying her comment was "for reporting violations of civil liberties by the Bush Administration", when the actual article makes it very clear that Melanie Morgan said "It is about revealing classified secrets in the time of war. And the media has got to take responsibility for revealing classified information that is putting American lives at risk."
That is the type of misrepresentation we have come to expect from the Democratic party and they should not be allowed to get away with it.
Move America Forward has made it very clear that this is not about politics and has invited speakers from all political parties to speak at their rallies as long as they are pro-troops and pro-mission, yet the Nevada Democratic Party by posting this on their website has just attempted to turn this rally by Move America Forward into a political issue.

So the Democrats, as a party in Nevada, is deliberately going up against a non partisan organization that is in complete support of the troops and their mission, for the Democratic political agenda, once again playing political football with our troops.
Support our troops in the only way they have asked America to support them, by supporting their mission and allowing them to finish the job they started and remember the words of a sergeant 1st class with the 5th Battalion, in,7th Cavalry, In Iraq, had to say in an interview with Popular Mechanics:
A sergeant 1st class with the 5th Battalion, 7th Cavalry, whose unit is attached to the Marines near Habbaniyah, patrols daily around Al Anbar province. This is his third tour, and he’s confident that progress is being made, despite what he calls early missteps in policy. “I think [Americans] understand our sacrifice, but they don’t understand that we’re just not ready to leave.”

If you ask yourself what can you do to support the soldiers in Iraq....TRY LISTENING TO THEM and stop letting people claim they are supporting the troops when they call for their rapid withdrawal, you cannot support the troops and completely ignore what they are telling you at the same time.
That is not support.
