Now, via
The Hill, look what Nancy Pelosi says about the proposed pay cut for Congress that is included in the across-the-board cuts within the upcoming sequester.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Thursday that she
opposes a cut in congressional pay because it would diminish the dignity
of lawmakers' jobs.
"I don't think we should do it; I think we should respect the work we
do," Pelosi told reporters in the Capitol. "I think it's necessary for
us to have the dignity of the job that we have rewarded."
Dignity? Pelosi thinks having less than 20 percent of Americans approving of the job Congress is doing, dignified?
Pelosi seems to forget Congressional members are employees and as such, their dismal job performance that Americans rate with such high disapproval would be cause for firing if Congress were run like a business.
There is nothing dignified in the job Congress has been doing of late, and they do deserve a pay cut, and in the 2014 midterms, many of them deserve to be removed from office.
The ultimate pay cut.
