NRA Paid Membership Surges Amidst Liberal Talk Of Gun Control

By Susan Duclos

As liberals, Obama and Joe Biden continue to push for new gun regulations against law abiding gun owners, NRA (National Rifle Association)  paid membership is surging. They are up from 4.1 million members to 4.2 million and have seen an increase of 100,000 new paid members in the last 18 days. Their goal is to reach five million members before this debate is over.

The NRA has agreed to listen to what VP Joe Biden has to say in his meetings but assure their members that will not compromise on Second Amendment principles nor support any gun bans.

Via Politico:

NRA TELLS PLAYBOOK it has gained over 100,000 new paid members in the past 18 days (Newtown shooting was Dec. 14), from 4.1 million to 4.2 million: “Our goal is to get to 5 million before  this debate is over.” Membership is $25, and comes with a choice of three gifts: Rosewood Handle Knife, Black & Gold Duffel Bag or Digital Camo Duffel Bag. Meeting with Vice President Joe Biden at 1:45 p.m. in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building today will be James Jay (Jim) Baker, the NRA’s director of federal affairs, who works for Chris Cox, executive director of the NRA Institute for Legislative Action (NRA’s chief lobbyist). Baker has dealt with Biden personally many times before, and they both are fixtures at the Delaware beach. Baker was in Cox's post during the ’90's for the Brady Bill and first assault-weapons bill.

--THE NRA’S MESSAGE FOR BIDEN, per an official: “We are willing to talk to policymakers about any reasonable proposals and plans. However, the NRA is hearing not just from Beltway elites and the chattering class, but real Americans all over the country that are hoping the NRA is not going to compromise on any of the principles of the Second Amendment, nor are we going to support banning guns. But we’re willing to listen."
