Video- Muslims In Libya, Egypt, Attack U.S. Embassy And Personnel Over Mohammed Movie

By Susan Duclos

Yesterday news broke that Muslims in Cairo, Egypt had attacked the U.S. Embassy, then attacks in Benghazi, Libya occurred, resulting in the death of the U.S. Ambassador to Libya and three others.

The reason for this out of control violence is over a movie called Innocence of Mohammed Mulsims which depicts Mohammed as a womanizer, pedophile and fraud. The Atlantic gives a basic description:

What exactly does the film say? It's still not clear, but it appears to compare Mohammed to a donkey and Muslims, according to one translation, to "child-lovers." The New York Times' Liam Stack, offering some offhand translations of the scene shown above, called it a "doozy." The man in the scene says of his donkey, "This is the first Muslim animal." He asks the donkey if it likes girls; when it doesn't answer, he bursts into laughter and says, "He doesn't like girls," according to Stack. Other scenes in the above clip seem to portray Muslim Egyptian characters, who for some reason all have strong New York accents, as immoral and violent, particularly toward the Christians whom they pursue with near-genocidal fervor. A number of Islam's founding figures, including the prophet, are accused of homosexuality and child molestation.

They also provide clips of the movie:(Original clip was made "private, so replacing it with another one- let's see how long that one stays up)

The U.S. Embassy to Cairo instantly took to Twitter and started condemning the film and apologizing hurt Muslim feelings, before the attacks apparently, then on 9-11 no less, stood by their initial comments, to which the Obama administration  immediately disavowed the apology from the U.S. Embassy to Cairo. Embassy tweets then said "This morning's condemnation (issued before protest began) still stands. As does our condemnation of unjustified breach of the Embassy." Those were soon deleted.

On the U.S. Embassy to Cairo website, dated September 11, 2012, from a press release:

U.S. Embassy Condemns Religious Incitement

September 11, 2012

The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims – as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions. Today, the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, Americans are honoring our patriots and those who serve our nation as the fitting response to the enemies of democracy. Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy. We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others.

(Screenshot captured in case that suddenly disappears as well)

One has to wonder if the right hand of the Obama administration is even aware of what the left hand of the Obama administration is doing.

Any statement coming from any U.S. Embassy should be cleared through the White House and for this back and forth to have happened as it did, in the midst of U.S  personnel and embassies being attacked and murdered, is a clear lack of leadership.

[Update] Mitt Romney made that very point as well, via Hot Air who has the video:

REPORTER: what did the white house do wrong, then, Governor Romney if they put out a statement saying they disagreed witness?

ROMNEY: their administration spoke. the president takes responsibility not just for the words that come from his mouth but also for the words that come from his ambassadors from his administration, from his embassies, from the state department. They clearly sent mixed messages to the world, and the statement that came from the administration, and the embassy is the administration. The statement that came from the administration was a statement which is akin to apology and I think was a severe miscalculation.

REPORTER: you talk about mixed signals. The world was watching, isn’t this assault a mixed signal when you criticize the president when Americans are being killed shouldn’t politics stop.

ROMNEY: we were speaking about the different courses we could take with regard to the challenges the world faces. The president and I have differences of opinion with regard to Israel and our policies there, with regards to Iran, with regards to Afghanistan, with regards to Syria we have many distinctions and differences. We join together in the condemnation of attacks on the American embassies and the loss of American life and join in sympathy for these people. It’s also important for me just as it was for the white house last night by the way to say that the statements were inappropriate, and in my view a disgraceful statement on the part of our administration to apologize for American values.

REPORTER: governor some people have said that you jumped the gun a little in putting that statement out last night and you should have waited until more details were available. Do you regret having that statement come out so early before we learned about all the things that were happening?

ROMNEY: I don’t think we ever hesitate when we see something which is a violation of our principles. We express immediately when we feel that the president and his administration have done something which is than consistent with the principles of America. Simply put, having an embassy which has been breached and has protestors on its grounds. Having violated the sovereignty of the United States. Having to embassy reiterating a statement apologizing for the right of free speech is not the right course for an administration.
[End Update]

So, we are all caught up.

The history of Muslims attacking every time their religion or their prophet Mohammed is depicted, written about, drawn or offended is ridiculous.

They rioted and murdered people when Terry Jones, who is promoting the film they are using as a reason to attack U.S. Embassies and personnel now, burned a Koran publicly. Yet there are YouTube videos of Bibles being burned with no violence or murders committed because of them.

When cartoons were created and published Muslim extremists rioted and attempted to assassinate the creator of those cartoons.

It may be crude, rude and offensive to attack anybody's religion but when anti-Semitic films are made we do not see Jews rioting and attacking Embassies. When anti-Christian films are made and released, Christians around the world do not start killing people over it. Same with Catholics, Mormons or any other religion that is offended by word, image or films. When cartoons are created depicting Jesus, or God, are  published, nope, no violent attacks across the world.
