Mitt Romney visited the Hamptons over the weekend for a few fundraisers and a massive protest was planned by left-wing groups such as MoveOn.org, Occupy Wall Street, the Long Island Progressive Coalition, Greenpeace, Strong For All, United New York, the Teamsters Union and otherswere all hyping it and inviting others to join in.
Should have been a large crowd right?
A high estimate by CNN puts the crowd as 200 people.

So the demonstration was a washout. But that doesn’t mean that there is nothing to be learned from it. On the contrary, the event illustrates how closely intertwined the “respectable” Left (i.e., the Democratic Party) has become with the disreputable, and often outright criminal, Left. Who, exactly, organized the Romney/Koch protest? The principal organizers were Andy Stepanian of Sparrow Media, Aaron Black of Occupy New York and Laura Dawn, Creative Director of MoveOn.org. Let’s focus on Stepanian, who said on Facebook that The Sparrow Project (i.e., Stepanian) is “coordinating PR around this Hamptons action.”.
So who is he? Stepanian is a self-described terrorist and convicted felon who was sentenced to three years in prison. (It was Chris Christie, by the way, who put him away.) Breitbart.com has written about Stepanian, noting that he continues to threaten violence against political opponents.
Of course a liberal protest is nothing if someone isn't arrested.

Two protesters tried to crash a Mitt Romney fundraiser by sailing across a pond — and wound up crashing into a police boat instead, according to a report.
They were arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and obstructing government administration, according to The L.A. Times.

For some reason, Obama has chosen to punctuate his recent run of glamorous fundraisers — Hi, George Clooney! Looking good, Anna Wintour! Don’t change a thing, Sarah Jessica Parker! — with bitter condemnations of the wicked, moneygrubbing Mitt Romney and his greedy pals. As the great David Burge puts it, you’re supposed to be angrier about what Romney does with his own money than what Obama does with yours.
The Hill reports Romney banked $3 million over the weekend and The Other McCain gets the headline of the day with "MSM Meme: Oh, Noes! Rich People Are Giving Money to Republicans!"
