Federal domestic spending increased a record 16 percent to $3.2 trillion in 2009, the Census Bureau reported Tuesday, largely because of a boost in aid to the unemployed and the huge economic stimulus package enacted to rescue the sinking economy.
The rise in spending was the largest since the Census Bureau began compiling the data in 1983. The Washington region was among the biggest beneficiaries of the government's spending.
Unemployment has reached 9.5 percent on average with states like Nevada hitting over 14 percent. Our federal deficit is the highest ever. The number of people on unemployment, welfare and food stamps have hit record highs.
When do Obama and Democrats admit what they have done has failed and begin to change course?
They don't, they want to double down and throw good money after bad and there is talk of yet more spending via another stimulus package.
It is up to us to force a change of course and try to dig our way out of this mess. The only way to do that is to throw them out, fire them... and come November, Americans will get their chance to do exactly that.
