Madeleine McCann went missing on May 3, 2007 from a resort of Praia da Luz in the Algarve, Portugal, just days before she was to turn 4 years old. She is still missing, one year later and her mother asks that people pray.
Her mother and father left her and her two-year-old twin siblings along in the bedroom, while they went to have dinner a short distance away, with the adults taking turns checking on the children.
On one of those occasions, when her mother went to check on them, she discovered Madeleine gone and a window open.
The Polícia Judiciária (Portuguese criminal investigation police)originally concluded she was abducted, then thought she might have died in the room and for a year they have been conducting an investigation, including investigating persons of suspect, yet no charges have been filed at this time and no one really knows what happened to Madeleine McCann.
Other aspects of the investigation showed dizzying twists and turns, with claims of sightings of the little girl, people calling and claiming they knew where she was, calls saying the callers knew she was alive and hundreds of reports from psychics and clairvoyants claiming to know the location of Madeleine, all of which investigators followed up on and from their statements, continue to do so.

The mother of the missing child, Kate McCann, simply asks, "Pray like mad for Madeleine."
Today’s painful milestone follows several days of intensive press and television interviews by Kate and Gerry McCann, who have mounted a 12-month global campaign to ensure Madeleine does not become just another statistic on the list of disappeared youngsters. The pair continue to lobby for a Europe wide alert system for missing children.
But there are signs they may now try to return to some kind of normality, if only for the sake of their other children, three-year-old twins Sean and Amelie.
“We take it day by day,” said Mr McCann, 39. “We will do what’s right for ourselves and the twins.”

Despite the fact that this writer is not religious, I see no harm in honoring Madeleine's mothers request, so why not join in and "Pray like mad for Madeleine."
