Obama's Official Launching Of 'Forward' Reelection Campaign On May 5- Karl Marx's Birthday

By Susan Duclos

The Hill recently reported that Barack Obama's "official" launching of his reelection campaign commences in  Columbus, Ohio, and Richmond, Va., on May 5, 2012.

H/T to Gateway Pundit who points out that the official launch date, coincidentally, is Karl Marx's birthday.

That is confirmed by Marx's biography which states he was "born into a comfortable middle-class home in Trier on the river Moselle in Germany on May 5, 1818."

Karl Marx was one of the authors of the Manifesto of the Communist Party more widely known by it's shortened name the Communist Manifesto.

Karl Marx was an advocate of Socialism and the namesake for Marxism.

Socialism:
1. a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole.

 2. procedure or practice in accordance with this theory.

3.(in Marxist theory) the stage following capitalism in the transition of a society to communism, characterized by the imperfect implementation of collectivist principles.

Marxism:
The system of economic and political thought developed by Karl Marx, along with Friedrich Engels, especially the doctrine that the state throughout history has been a device for the exploitation of the masses by a dominant class, that class struggle has been the main agency of historical change, and that the capitalist system, containing from the first the seeds of its own decay, will inevitably, after the period of the dictatorship of the proletariat, be superseded by a socialist order and a classless society.

Obama's 2012 reelection campaign choice of the slogan "Forward" which historically has a close association with Marxism and Socialism.

The Obama campaign apparently didn't look backwards into history when selecting its new campaign slogan, "Forward" — a word with a long and rich association with European Marxism.

Many Communist and radical publications and entities throughout the 19th and 20th centuries had the name "Forward!" or its foreign cognates. Wikipedia has an entire section called "Forward (generic name of socialist publications)."

"The name Forward carries a special meaning in socialist political terminology. It has been frequently used as a name for socialist, communist and other left-wing newspapers and publications," the online encyclopedia explains.

July of 2010,  Democracy Corps, found that 55 percent of likely voters think “socialist” is a reasonably accurate way of describing Obama. 33 percent said it described Obama "very well" and 22 percent said it described him "well."

By September 2011, according to a  Winthrop Poll, that number was up to 75 percent that said the term socialist described Obama well or very well.

So, it actually makes perfect sense that Obama would "officially" launch his reelection campaign on Marx's birthday. The man appears to be Obama's hero!

There are only two logical possibilities here 1) Team Obama were ignorant of the fact that May 5 was Marx's Birthday and would give conservatives entertaining Obama/socialist articles or 2) they knew and just didn't care.
