Bristol Palin was not at the game with her mother... 14 year old Willow Palin was.
Palin responds by calling him out on his pathetic excuse and lies:
Palin said it took Letterman time to think of the "convenient excuse" that he was talking about Bristol instead of Willow.
Amazing that after all that was said and written, all the attacks on Sarah Palin's family, especially her daughter, during the campaign season, finally, one women's organization has stood up to say enough.
National Organization for Women:
The Offense: Late night TV host David Letterman "joked" that during their recent trip to New York, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's daughter "was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez" during a Yankees baseball game. The next night Letterman said that the hardest part of Palin's trip was "keeping Eliot Spitzer away from her daughter."
NOW Analysis: After two nights of "jokes" at the expense of Palin and her family, Letterman tried to explain himself and offer something of an apology. On his June 10 show, Letterman said he was referring to Palin's 18-year-old daughter, Bristol -- not the 14-year-old daughter who actually accompanied Palin on her New York trip. Letterman said "I recognize that these are ugly" jokes. NOW agrees. Comedians in search of a laugh should really know better than to snicker about men having sex with teenage girls (or young women) less than half their age.
Michelle Malkin, in her Creators Syndicate column, tears into Letterman, asking him "Will you teach your son to talk about women and girls the way you talk about Sarah Palin and her daughters?"
Face it: David Letterman, late-night entertainer-turned-partisan hack/hitman has a deranged obsession with Sarah Palin and her family that has crossed into rank bigotry and hatred. If the CBS network cares about basic standards of decency on public airwaves and if it cares at all about bolstering its shrinking audience, the network honchos will get Letterman a therapist pronto.
Agreed and I suggested he needed help when I asked if he was a closet pedophile the first day I heard about this.
After all, what kind of person automatically thinks about the term "knocked up" in relation to a 14 year old?

Topping it all off though was Letterman's invitation to Darah palin to come on his show:
"Gov. Palin, if you're watching, I would like you to consider coming to New York City – even Todd – as my guests, or leave Todd at home. I'd love to have you on the show. It'd be exciting. All right, so there, I hope I've cleared part of this up. Am I guilty of poor taste? Yes. Did I suggest that it was okay for her 14-year-old daughter to be having promiscuous sex? No."
Palin , via Meghan Stapleton, a representative of the Palin family, gives Palin's response to Letterman's offer:
"The Palins have no intention of providing a ratings boost for David Letterman by appearing on his show. Plus, it would be wise to keep Willow away from David Letterman."
Smart move. I wouldn't let a female child anywhere near David Letterman.
