I am one of the aggravated neighbors - and this "news" broke right outside my back gate through which I glared at the guitar strumming, wine-sipping, middle aged hippy ladies dressed like pink Mama Cass fairies, waving peace and anti-war signs at the honking cars streaming by.That was until the San Francisco police showed up and transformed my renowned neighbor's curb into a bright red, no parking - no protest oasis.
So here's the update, Michelle.
The neighborhood has lost 5 parking spots and Code Pink has been zoned down the street, away from the Speaker's front door and house, in a stunning arabesque that landed the whole pink lot ... directly in front of my house.

Anyone that reads this blog regularly, knows I do not like Nancy Pelosi and I believe she has been one of the worst things that has happened to this country as well as being an embarrassment to women, in general.
She certainly embarrasses me, as a woman.
With that said....
Code Pink is beginning to piss me off because no one deserves to have these insane, crazy people parked outside of their house making pests of themselves...not even Nancy Pelosi.
"I've had four or five months of people sitting outside my home, going into my garden in San Francisco and angering my neighbors," Pelosi said at a gathering sponsored by the Christian Science Monitor.
Pelosi added that the squatters have engaged in decidedly non-neighborly behavior like hanging their clothes from the trees; moving in sofas, chairs and other "permanent living facilities"; and, oddly, building a large Buddha on the sidewalk in front of her home. "You can just imagine my neighbors' reactions to all of this," she said. "And if they were poor, and they were sleeping on my sidewalk, they'd be arrested for loitering, but because they have 'impeach Bush' across their chest, it's the First Amendment."
Did she make campaign promises about Iraq that she couldn't keep? Yes, she did.
Did these fools (Code Pink) ask before the elections how Pelosi was going to keep those campaign promises? NOPE.
Back the hell off of her.
Whether you think we should stay in Iraq and finish the job, especially now that we are seeing such success, or whether you think we should leave, any reasonable person knows we just cannot pick up and be out of there by next week.
These people have no reason, no rationality and no excuses for not asking the pertinent question before the 2006 elections.
What these psychopaths do not seem to understand is that the Senate does not have enough votes to force our withdrawal and as long as General Petraeus and our brave troops keep seeing progress, they won't have those votes.
Nancy Pelosi cannot do anything about it.
My heavens, do you know how much I hate feeling the need to defend that woman?
CUT. IT. OUT.
There is quite a bit that Pelosi can be criticized about as Don Surber points out and the poll numbers for Congress are at the lowest they have ever been, no matter what organization does the polling.
To camp out at her house though, crosses a line. That is not free speech and should not be considered so. It should be considered what it is, harassment.
Worse yet, they are harassing her for something she has no control over.

"We have to make responsible decisions in the Congress that are not driven by the dissatisfaction of anybody who wants the war to end tomorrow," Pelosi told the gathering at the Sofitel, arranged by the Christian Science Monitor. Though crediting activists for their "passion," Pelosi called it "a waste of time" for them to target Democrats. "They are advocates," she said. "We are leaders."
It was a rather fierce response to the party's liberal base, which frightens many a congressional Democrat. But it wasn't out of character for the new speaker. Pelosi's fixed and constant smile makes her appear as if she is cutting an ad for a whitening toothpaste. But when you listen to the words that come from her grinning maw, the smile seems more akin to that of a barracuda.
One reporter asked about Democratic lawmakers who proposed a tax increase for the war. "They were not making legislation; they were making a point," Pelosi judged.
Another asked about a Republican congressman's complaints that the word "God" was removed from certificates accompanying congressional flags. "I don't know what his point is," Pelosi volleyed.
Complaints that she didn't go far enough on climate-change legislation? "We did not say we were going to do any more than we did."
The Senate's stalemate on the war? "We in the House will not be confining our legislation initiatives to what is legislatively possible in the Senate."
I know quite a few people, especially on my side of the aisle think Pelosi is getting her just deserts for continuing to advocate retreat in defeat while completely ignoring and avoiding any and all progress that is being made in Iraq and I take exception to that too.
I cannot criticize them for saying flat out, she asked for it, she encouraged these people before the elections and now she is reaping what she, herself has sowed.
I simply think that there is a line and these Code Pinko's are crossing it.
Right now it seems like a joke, seeing these people that Pelosi encouraged, stoked the fire behind the passionand are now turning against her, but what happens when one of these unhinged people snaps, ends up hurting Pelosi or a familiy member or a staffer because they also park themselves outside of her office?
What then?
Who will bear the responsibility for that, when inaction and allowing these people to harass Pelosi and her neighbors encourages them to go further, when they become so emboldened that they cross further over the line?
I don't see this as being just about Free Speech, I see an escalating problem that can be potentially dangerous.
I might not like the women, I have plenty to say on that subject, but I also do not want to see her physically harmed either.
