Bullied Boy Dies, Bullies Get 2 Day Suspension Vs Student Disarms Gunman And Gets 3 Day Suspension

By Susan Duclos

(Headline corrected)

Another story, once again highlighting the complete idiocy shown by school officials, when compared to other recent news articles about decisions being made across the country in our nation's schools, leads to the obvious questions---- What the hell is going on in our schools across America?

Last month an 11 year-old child is attacked at school by bullies, left with a concussion as well as a broken nose. A day later he starts having seizures, is put into a medically induced coma and then dies a month later, on March 3, 2013.

NBC Philadelphia reports the students that attacked 11 year-old Bailey, were suspended for two days only.

While the students who jumped Bailey were suspended for two days, investigators have not revealed whether they will be criminally charged.

“I would like to see these kids punished,” said Fecanin when she spoke to Zachry last month. “Something has to be done. I don’t know what’s taking them so long.”

Southeast Delco School District Superintendent Stephen D. Butz says the school sends its condolences to the boy's friends and family. He said additional counselors are being made available for both students and staff.

Delaware County District Attorney Jack Whelan says investigators are trying to determine if the injuries Bailey received in the fight caused his seizures. Investigators interviewed students and recess aides who were on the playground when the fight broke out.

“We can assure them that we are going to continue with our investigation,” said Whelan.
Bailey’s younger brother was taken out of the school because his parents were worried that he'd also be the victim of bullying.

Students beat a child to the point where he is hospitalized and only receive a two day suspension..... now compare that to the next recent news story, discussed at WuA  yesterday, here, where students disarm another student who has what was confirmed to be a loaded gun, pointed at another kid, threatening to kill him, and the students that disarmed him ended up with a three day suspension.

Students saving the life or lives of other students are punished more harshly than students that take the life of another kid.

Huh?

As I pointed out in yesterdays piece, other examples show a school decision making system that is very questionable:

 • Second-grader suspended for two days because his teacher thought he shaped the strawberry, pre-baked toaster pastry into something resembling a gun. WBFF, the FOX affiliate in Baltimore, broke the story.

• Parents furious after two 6-year-old boys were suspended for using fingers as guns.

• Students were required to design socialist flags.

California School Punishes Students for Wearing “Racist” American Flag Bandanas and Chanting “USA” at Basketball Game

• Junior high teacher tells kid to remove Marines t-shirt or get suspended.

Just think, these are the people in charge of a school system that is teaching our nation's children and they have absolutely no sense of right or wrong and no common sense.

I repeat my earlier question: What the hell is going on in our schools across America?

Parents seriously need to start paying attention, make their voices heard, show up at the schools, talking to these idiots in charge, and let them know they find this ridiculousness unacceptable.
