Goods-Producing Jobs Vs Government 'Profit-Eating' Jobs

The chart below was obtained at The Business Insider and it pretty much says it all.

In fact, the decline of the jobs in goods producing sectors of the economy--construction, manufacturing, mining and agriculture--has largely been met with an increase in jobs on the government payroll. We've gone from providing jobs in profit-making private industry to providing jobs in profit-eating government work....

Goods producing work was money making work, goods are produced and sold for profit, money is made and spent and the economy rolls on. Government jobs produce little, if any, profit. It is simply taxpayer money spent to employ the majority of the workers.

This is our decline.
