Harry Reid is running around lying to Democrats trying to reassure them that Joe Lieberman will not vote with Republicans to filibuster Reid's Obamacare bill if it contains the public option.
Lieberman's spokesman calls Reid out on those lies, stating "Sen. Lieberman has made it clear that he will vote for the motion to proceed to the healthcare bill but will oppose cloture on a final bill if it contains a public option because he believes that it would worsen our national debt problem."
Reid needs Lieberman's vote to reach the 60 votes needed to prevent a filibuster and Lieberman's assurances last week that he would side with Republicans if Reid left the public option in the final bill, threw Reid for a loop and left him short of the votes needed. So Reid lies to the Democrats that are on the fence, praying to keep them on board.
Busted.
[Update] Commentary has another quote from Lieberman aide Marshall Wittmann:
"If you believe this story is true, you will also believe that I am replacing A-Rod in game six of the series."

I wonder how many are truly idiotic enough to believe Harry Reid's lies.
