Sue Lowden Will Challenge Harry Reid For Senate Seat

You can read the news yourself about how "Former Nevada state Republican Party Chairwoman Sue Lowden will announce her bid to challenge Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid."

But I have a quote of the day from Lowden, via that article linked above:

"I feel strongly that it is time for Senator Reid to be accountable to the voters of Nevada. He has forgotten about the people who elected him to be there."

Lowden also said she was "pleasantly surprised" by polling that showed her leading Reid since she hadn't been on a ballot of any kind in the state since 1996 when she lost her re-election race for the state Senate.

Kick the crooked bum out.

DailyKos isn't the only poll that has shown such massive disapproval on Reid, nor the only one that shows that Republican challenges have a lead in polling on Reid.

Recently the Las Vegas Review Journal published a piece showing the that Lowden as well as another potential Republican challenger, comes out ahead of Harry Reid, in his own home state.

Nevadans favored Tarkanian over Reid 49 percent to 38 percent and Lowden over Reid 45 percent to 40 percent, according to the poll.

Reid's status makes him an icon of the Democratic Party and ties him to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and President Barack Obama, both of whom are losing ground among centrist and right-leaning voters in the country.

Winning "becomes more difficult when you are actually the one having to carry the water for the president," said Richard Davis, a professor of political science at Brigham Young University in Utah. "He (Reid) has got to get something out of the Obama administration that he can claim as his own."

"Either Republican Danny Tarkanian or Sue Lowden would knock out Reid in a general election, according to a recent poll of Nevada voters."

Good luck to Sue Lowden.
