Oh Nuts!!!! Diamondbacks Chris Snyder Out With Fractured Testicle

I do not generally write sports pieces but when I heard this, even being a woman, I cringed. Diamondbacks Chris Snyder has been placed on a 15-day disabled list after a baseball nailed him in the groin, fracturing his testicle.
The Diamondbacks were playing the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday night and in the fourth inning, the catcher, Chris Snyder, was hit in the testicles with a foul ball.

Snyder has been placed on the disabled list with a testicular fracture.

It was originally thought he would need surgery on his fractured left testicle, but reports now say that he will not have to undergo that particular procedure.

For those unaware of what a testicular fracture is, I looked it up for you, I am helpful that way.

From eMedicine-- “Testicular rupture or fractured testis refers to a rip or tear in the tunica albuginea resulting in extrusion of the testicular contents.”

This isn't the only strange sports injury of late either. Outfielder Felix Pie, from the Chicago Cubs, missed a couple of days because of a "twisted" testicle.

That doesn't sound as bad as a fractured testicle but after looking it up (being helpful again) I found this definition:

Testicular torsion is a disorder in which the testicles rotate (twist) and strangle the spermatic cord, which consists of blood vessels, lymphatic vessels, nerves, and the duct that carries sperm from the body (vas deferens), cutting off the blood supply to the testicles. Torsion can cause shrinkage (atrophy) and tissue death (necrosis), and may require surgical removal of the testicles (orchiectomy) if not treated promptly. Torsion often occurs during sleep.

There...that is my contribution to sports on Wake up America

For the men that watched the video above... how many of you cringed when you saw that?
