As long as the condom's are picked up and the people that want to have sex in the public only do it in the evening or night time, then according to new rules, it is fine and dandy to have sexual relations in Amsterdam's Vondelpark.
The Telegraph article starts off saying that the "Dutch council officials will permit gay sex in public areas", but later refers to it as public sex, not specifying heterosexual relations or homosexual relations.
It points out the the Vondelpark is in the center of the city and draws "hordes" of summer visitors, including families, skaters and joggers and they claim that the Vondelpark has become "famous" as a "trysting spot for gay men looking for uncomplicated sexual encounters."
Paul van Grieken, an Alderman in the Oud-Zuid district of the city, has startled many Amsterdammers, despite their famously liberal attitudes, with plans to allow public sex as part of this summer's new rules of conduct for the country's best-known park.
Now to me, it really doesn't matter whether it is heterosexuals or homosexuals, personally I think what happens in a bedroom should stay in a bedroom and I don't want to see anyone, gay or straight, having sex in public places.
Especially public parks that a family might want to bring their children to for a nice evening stroll.
Thats just me.
Another new rule will allow authorities to fine dog owners that let their pets off of a leash and one dog owner says, "As long as the park has existed, we've been allowed to let our dogs run freely. It's outrageous that we will be punished from now on but public sex won't. If they can drop their trousers, why can't I let my dog loose?"
What do you think?
