Vets for Freedom: WEEK 9: Momentum Gathers for Sept. 17 & 18

Picture this: Hundreds of Iraq and Afghanistan veterans acting together and meeting on Capitol Hill to tell Congress: "Don't surrender in Iraq, especially now that we're making progress."

Since putting out the word 5 weeks ago, veterans - from across the country - have answered the call of Vets for Freedom and will be joining us in Washington, DC on September 17 & 18.

It's time for one final push! It is not too late to sign up, and our goal is to double our numbers this week. There is still space available for veterans to attend, and with all expenses paid - what's your excuse? Watch the adjoining video as well, and pass along to your buddies.

Only YOU can relay the "on the ground" reality that eludes the media and members of Congress! Don't miss your chance to be part of something historic in Washington, DC!

What You Can Do This Week!

1. Sign Up! Visit our website for all the information you need (or see below).

2. Send this email to at least 5 Iraq and/or Afghanistan veterans. Tell them to sign up - it's important, it's free, and it's easy. Make sure to sign up by September 9th!!

3. Forward this email to all of your friends and family. Send it to your email list. We need to get the word out!

4. Donate. This event costs us a great deal, and your generous support would be greatly appreciated.

Sign Up. All you need to do to sign up is send an email to events@vetsforfreedom.org with your name, military bio, your home state, and contact information. Once we receive this information we can start the process of arranging your travel and scheduling your appointments in Washington, DC.

If you have any questions, visit our website for more details about the event, including tentative timeline and objective; or, you can email your question to events@vetsforfreedom.org.

What Else Can You Do This Week?

Support our Allies. While we are America's largest pro-mission Iraq and Afghanistan veteran's organization, we are not the only ones working to make sure Congress supports General Petraeus and the troops in the field. Take the time to check out the great work being done by our friends.

* Move America Forward's Fight for Victory Tour. Yesterday, Move America Forward - a strong pro-troop organization - launched a cross-country caravan to support the troops. Visit their website to see their schedule, and if they're coming through your area, come out and support them.

* Gathering of Eagle's September 15th Pro-Troop Rally in Washington, DC. Anti-war groups will be protesting en-masse on September 15 (including a disgusting "Die In,") and the Gathering of Eagles is organizing a huge rally on September to counter them. If you're available, visit their website to find out how to join them on the 15th!

* Families United for the Troops and Their Mission. If you are a Gold Star or Blue Star family member, and would like to make a trip to Washington, DC at the same time as Vets for Freedom, visit their website for more information.

* Freedom's Watch. If you haven't done so already, visit the Freedom's Watch website to view their powerful new TV advertisements. Also, take 5 minutes to call their toll free "Call your Congressman" line: 1-877-222-8001.

* Sign the Petition. If you haven't done so already, Sign our petition in support of General Petraeus and the mission in Iraq.

In one week General Petraeus testifies before Congress. And in two weeks, we mobilize on Capitol Hill to back him up. The question is: will you join us at this crucial time?

Move out and draw fire!

Regards,

Pete Hegseth
