A few important things

Hat Tip to Bob for the emailing pointing me towards Hot Air.

Hot Air brings our attention towards this article:

ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) -- Few stories have touched CNN.com users like that of 5-year-old Youssif, an Iraqi boy who had gone out to play on a January day when he was suddenly grabbed by masked men, doused in gas and set on fire.

[...]

The Children's Burn Foundation -- a non-profit organization based out of Sherman Oaks, California, that provides support for burn victims locally, nationally and internationally -- has agreed to pay for the transportation for Youssif and his family to come to the United States and to set up a fund so you can donate.

The foundation says it will cover all medical costs -- from surgeries for Youssif to housing costs to any social rehabilitation that might be needed for him. Surgeries will be performed by Dr. Peter Grossman, a plastic surgeon with the affiliated-Grossman Burn Center who is donating his services for Youssif's cause.

Officials are still trying to get the appropriate visas for his travels. Youssif could be in the United States for up to a year for the various treatments he needs.

Here’s the background in case you missed it yesterday and here’s the CBF donation page. Choose “Youssif’s Fund” under the dropdown menu if you’d like to give.

Go Donate.

Next we see that Woman Honor Thyself attended the funeral for Firefighter Joseph Graffagnino, 33, of Ladder Company 5, who died in the fire at the former Deutsche Bank building, near Ground Zero, on Saturday. Joseph is survived by his wife, Linda, and two children, a 4-year-old daughter, Mia, and an infant son, Joseph.

Go read about it.

The head on over to Take Our Country Back where we see Iraqi Vets responding to the NYT seven.

We understand the frustration our fellow soldiers feel. All of us were in Iraq before the "surge" and lament never seeing a coherent, security-based counterinsurgency strategy. In truth, we were only clearing--not holding.

But we also know what's possible when even small portions of counterinsurgency strategy are applied. Insurgents are exposed, leaders stand up, and stability occurs. General David Petraeus and Ambassador Ryan Crocker understand the principles of counterinsurgency and are applying them up and down the chain of command. It's unfortunate that soldiers in the 82nd Airborne have not yet benefited from the new strategy, but it will ensure that their actions, and those of their fallen brethren, will not have been in vain.

Meanwhile, we applaud our brothers in the 82nd Airborne for their courage under fire, thank them for their commitment to our nation, and pray for the recovery of their injured co-author.

Once again, I just showed a teaser, click over there to read the whole thing.

Last but not least, Brat from Tanker Brothers sent an email requesting help for a soldier in need.

If you would like to endorse your name, there is a
web-site that has been established that could possibly give them a chance
for an extreme make-over home. The web-site is:

[Update] In the news we see Hillary contending that a terrorist attack would be good for the GOP.

The silliest thing I have heard yet. First, an attack would be bad for the GOP and the administration because they have the responsibility to keep America safe. It would also be bad for the Democrats because they have done everything in their power to embolden the enemy.

It is a no win situation for both sides.

As arguments go, this has to be the least thought out one ever given.
