Compare And Contrast: Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day Vs Gay Activists 'Kiss Off' Day

Tens of thousands of people showed up to support free speech on Wednesday, August 1, 2012, after liberals attempted to start a boycott in response to Chick-Fil-A's president, Dan Cathy, speaking up in defense of marriage. The Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day supporters let the pictures from around the country make their statement with many commenting on record that Cathy had the right to speak his beliefs without threat or intimidation and that they were there to in support of freedom of speech.

On Friday, gay activists staged their own protest and named "kiss off" and/or Chick-fil-A Kiss-In Day (depending on reports), which LA Times described as "small" compared to the "huge" crowds that turned out on Wednesday.

The size of the two events are not the only compare and contrast moment though, the pictures also tell a story of a very different type of crowd. One showing quiet but massive support while the other an in-your-face type of mentality.
