Video- Romney Ad Nails Obama On Economy: 'It's Just Not Getting Better '

By Susan Duclos

In response to the July unemployment rise from 8.2 percent to 8.3 percent, Mitt Romney's campaign has released a video ad titled "It's Just Not Getting Better." The Romney campaign is missing a crucial element in these unemployment and economic ads though.... Obama's own words.

The ad holds Obama accountable for the rise in unemployment and the sputtering economy, a charge hard for Obama, Democrats and liberals to counter given that in February 2009, Obama himself maintained that if he didn't "have this done" in three years he would be "held accountable" and be looking at a "one-term proposition."

Full quote from Barack Obama the video above- February 2009:

"Look, I’m at the start of my administration. One nice thing about the situation I find myself in is that I will be held accountable. You know, I’ve got four years. And, you know, a year from now I think people are going to see that we’re starting to make some progress,” Obama said. “But there’s still going to be some pain out there. If I don’t have this done in three years, then there’s going to be a one-term proposition."

The problem with the Romney ad is that any and all ads dealing with the economy and/or jobs, should show that 2009 comment from Obama at the very beginning. Hammer home Obama's own words before going on to address the economic and unemployment news of the day, week or month.

BONUS video- The Romney campaign also nails Obama on Israel in another ad titled "Cherished Relationships", shown below.
