A new poll from the Florida Times-Union/Insider Advantage has Mitt Romney leading Barack Obama in Florida by five percent, 52 to 47 percent.
This closely matches a Tampa Bay Times/Bay News 9/Miami Herald poll, released on November 3, which had Romney up by six percentage points, 51 to 45 percent.
Both polls show a large advantage for Romney among the critical Independent voters in Florida, with the Florida Times Union/Insider Advantage poll showing a double digit lead among Indies, 25 points.
Romney leads with every age group except those between 18-29.
Tampa Bay Times/Bay News 9/Miami Herald poll also finds Florida voters trust Romney more to fix the economy and give him an
edge, 50 percent to 48 percent, on who will look out more for the middle
class.
Florida holds 29 electoral votes.
