The Daily Caller To Keith Olbermann: 'WE OWN YOU'

Technically they are right, they do own Olbermann, or to rephrase, the Olbermann domain name. For now.

Ouch.. has to hurt that not only Olbermann's nemesis (Tucker Carlson Editor-in-Chief of The Daily Caller) managed to point out that Keith Olbermann didn't bother to purchase his own domain name, but The Daily Caller, swept in and bought it.

The Daily Caller announces the acquisition on 7/14/10, headlining with "The Daily Caller acquires KeithOlbermann.com."

The Daily Caller, one of the fastest-growing online media properties, announced today its acquisition of KeithOlbermann.com, expanding the company’s global reach into a new segment of the online political market. For more than six months The Daily Caller has been a recognized market leader in commentary about Keith Olbermann. Ruth Graham’s weekly Olbermann wrap-up, “We watch, because we’re paid to,” appears on The Daily Caller’s website each Friday.

“We plan to make The Daily Caller the one-stop online shop for Keith Olbermann commentary,” said Editor-in-Chief Tucker Carlson. “We will be THE Keith Olbermann superstore.”

“This is part of our long-term growth strategy,” added Publisher and CEO Neil Patel. “Our future acquisition targets include several other annoying cable news commentators.”

Should Olbermann/ MSNBC sue to change this status and obtain the www.keitholbermann.com as his Twitter tweets suggests he might, they will probably win, but for those of us that have noticed his Leftist rants, his unhinged screeching with unprovable allegations time and time again, the amusement factor Patel/Tucker/Daily Caller has offered us with this action, is priceless.

Via Yahoo News, Tucker Carlson tells Michael Calderone at Upshot that he "woke up this morning with a smile on my face," and that he will start "using a new email address: Keith@KeithOlbermann.com."

[Update] From NewsBusters:

According to the US Copyright Office: "Copyright law does not protect domain names."
