Obama Replaces American Flag With His Logo On Tail Of Airplane

The Obama airplane which jets the Democratic candidate around the world underwent a makeover. One of the changes in the plane's appearance is the American flag that was on the tail was replaced with Obama's logo.
Lynn Sweet from the Chicago Sun-Times as did Fox embed, Bonney Kapp, wrote about it and provided photos of the new makeover of the Obama 757, with the words "Change We Can Believe In" on the side of the plane and one of the photos also shows that the American flag that used to be on the tail of the plane, is gone and it was replaced with the Obama logo.

The North American jet that flew Obama and his traveling crew around for much of the primary season was refurbished with new seats and power for each passenger a must on the campaign trail. And the plane that once had an American flag on its tail now sports the Obama “O.” “Change We Can Believe In” and the candidate’s website are splayed across both sides of the fuselage, making this 757 anything but inconspicuous.

You can see more photos of the plane at both articles and there is no law against removing the American flag from the tail of the plane and replacing it with anything the candidate or his staff chooses.

Snopes provides photos of prior candidates Bob Dole and John Kerry's campaign planes as well as a photo of George Bush's plane in 2000.

Obama plane was leased by North American Airlines, to which photos show that the American flag was on the tail prior to the new makeover.

For the sake of accuracy, John McCain's plane also does not have the American flag on the tail. His plane was chartered from Swift Air, to which in looking at at the specs (2 page PDF), never had an American flag on the tail, so he added his to the fuselage area, but never removed it from the tail to replace it with his website name. There was no flag shown on the Swift Air plane at all and McCain had one added.
