Pop Quiz!!!!

I am going to list a few reactions to the Presidents speech on his new strategy in Iraq and all you have to do is name the person who said these things.....easy right?

Let us begin.....

The "surge" will extend insecurity, danger and tension"............... who said this?

Iraq policy as "marred by incompetence and arrogance".....who said this?

the surge was "not a positive step"....... who said this?

additional troops "would not be able to radically change the situation" and ensure peace and security....... who said this?

If there's any surge that we need, it's a surge in diplomacy....... who said this?

I only picked five statements out of a slew of them for this little pop quiz......so, who said what?

Are you now trying to put the comments into the search engine to find out who said what and when? It isn't as easy as it seemed at first is it?

Some will wave their hands and say "thats easy, we know it was the Democrats that made those statements", others will say, "HEY, a few Republicans are against the surge also".... so who said what?????

I will give you a little hint here... I referred to this very issue in a previous post found here.

Are you now getting the feeling that you have been had? Or are you shaking your head saying "thats not fair"..... maybe if you lean to the right of the center, you are laughing and saying "Makes sense".

Fact of the matter is, we cannot tell the difference anymore between the Democratic reactions to the Presidents new strategy from our enemies reactions.... THAT should be a wakeup call to our Democrats and those to the left of the center.

When one party, any party, starts making statements that match so completely with our enemies or opponents or countries that are not fully our allies, statements, it should definitely make one stop and ask "what is wrong with this picture?"

The answers are simple.....

The "surge" will extend insecurity, danger and tension"...............Iran: Foreign ministry spokesman Mohammad Ali Hosseini denounced the surge as a "continuation of occupation... to be condemned" which would "extend insecurity, danger and tension". He said Bush's plan to install Patriot missile batteries "is part of US policy direction to create a support umbrella for the Zionist regime [Israel] through an Islamic country". (Source)

Iraq policy as "marred by incompetence and arrogance"...........Senator Hillary Clinton lambasted Bush's Iraq policy as "marred by incompetence and arrogance" and said she would not support sending more troops there. (Source)

the surge was "not a positive step"..........Syria: The vice-president, Farouk al-Sharaa, said the surge was "not a positive step". Suleiman Hadad, an MP and former deputy foreign minister, said the US plan was "an escalation devoid of any signs of peace". (Source)

additional troops "would not be able to radically change the situation" and ensure peace and security.........Russia: Defence ministry spokesman Vladimir Shamanov said additional troops "would not be able to radically change the situation" and ensure peace and security. (Source)

If there's any surge that we need, it's a surge in diplomacy....... DURBIN: I think that's a mistake. If there's any surge that we need, it's a surge in diplomacy. (Source)

One last quote here:

"I'd much rather lose a campaign than lose a war,"....... John McCain

Perhaps more politicians should worry about "winning" the war on terror instead of "winning" their next election.

I will point you again to this post from Amy Proctor, because it is THAT good.
